amazing video, just needed clarification on: so the entire polypeptide chain (primary structure) doesn't fold into either of the secondary structures? So, certain segments of the chain just stay unfolded while the others fold into secondary structures?
@kristinagremski
@kristinagremski 4 жыл бұрын
Thank you. :). This video was simplified, since it was intended for high school students in AP Biology. There are other types of secondary structures, as well as segments of the polypeptide chain fold into shapes that don't have a specific name. This website explains pretty well: www.cryst.bbk.ac.uk/PPS2/course/section8/ss-960531_4.html
@irinabains4300
@irinabains4300 4 жыл бұрын
@@kristinagremski Thank you! The link was indeed helpful but just want to once again clarify this, so the entire linear polypeptide chain which is the primary structure is folded into one or the other secondary structures right? No segment of the primary structure is left unfolded, I believe.
