@@nspector that's not entirely the reason she kept it quiet. It was no one's business and had nothing to do with her professional life. She had reasons why she didn't want anyone to know that had nothing to do with the fear of getting blacklisted. Also, worrying about people finding out about it had nothing to do with her nearly going half crazy. That was because of her childhood and tons of stress from working all the time and being in the public eye.

I saw the movie when it first aired on television. Fell in love with Dennis Quaid then. I try to watch all his movies. I also loved the song that Kristy McNichole sang, "I Need You Strong For Me" My family had just gotten a VCR and we recorded that movie. "The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia". I learned that song by heart on my guitar. Sang it all the time! I'm currently looking for the movie, whether it be VHS or DVD! Preferably NEW. If anyone knows how and where I can obtain one, Please let me know 🙏. Just post to my Facebook page

It's funny how the good "cult classic" from the late 70's and early 80's are so damn hard to find these days. Hell I looked on Amazon for the past six months and it keeps saying NOT IN STOCK AND DONT KNOW WHEN IT WILL BE IN STOCK AGAIN. And I don't want a DVD-R version of it either. I was born in 1971, so I was about 10 or 11 when this came out. I'm a Georgia native born n raised so movies like this made here, or having Georgia in the title have a special place in my heart, like Six Pack in 1982 starring the late great Kenny Rogers. The bar scene was filmed at the old Hemingway's Bar and Grill off North Druid Hills road in Decatur GA. That's where I got to meet him and it was awesome
