Kristy, I am a beginner artist and I recently started watching your channel and I've watched many of your videos so far. I never painted a sunflower before until now and I i gotta say that I'm pretty proud of my results. Thank you for creating a stress free, judgement free, and fun to be creative space for us here. I am one that is very critical of my work but with your mantras to be kind to yourself, I've been able to feel more like an artist and less like a preschooler learning to paint!😅 Again, thank you for being you! 💗

This video shows what can be accomplished in a short sitting time, maybe 5-10 minutes. I can make a flower, enjoy the process (most important), and finish. Please continue with some more of these videos. They show me that I can paint what you show. You have such a pleasant attitude and voice.Encouraging viewers to paint with what they have, but also giving names of colors and types of paper and paintbrushes, you are the reason I am trying once again to paint with watercolor. Keep up the wonderful work you are doing. You are making your corner of the world engaged and happy!

This provided another pathway for my watercolor journey. I'm usually the loose, flowing, pastel girl, trying to keep it light and airy. This felt so "naughty!" and was so bold. It was fun. Will probably not be my go-to style for most but it does help to keep things fresh. It was fun and you take away all my fear of "Screwing it Up." Thank you for that freedom. Purchased a rigger and liner brush at your urging. So glad I did! Love them both. (Hmmmm...a cat's tongue...don't have one of those....yet!)

Sunflowers are the reason I ever tried to make a mark on paper, I believe. As long as I can recall sunflowers just make me. I can't wait to try this. I may have been doing too much with the liner brush lately, but who cares?! I have some good calligraphy ink, I think I ’ll use for the flourishes. Hello! I love the way you intertwined the strokes and used a liner brush for the movement effect. Can a fountain pen be used for the same effect?

Yes, absolutely! You won't get the effect where the paint runs out of the brush, but you will have more control with a fountain pen. :)
