I LOVE these old posters. I had no idea you could paint this style with gouache! This is so exciting! By the way, your videos are so lovely - I like to make a cuppa and have a sit down and watch one on my TV before having a go at a painting. I don’t bother with regular TV shows anymore. Yes please more flowers in Gouache because I started my painting journey with watercolour which I still love immensely but recently I wish to gouache and them exploring exactly what you just did in this tutorial all those different opacities with gouache! What a refreshing tutorial, three different methods and different but similar. Just love the 1930's poster style took me back to school days, learned "stylisation" rendered in acrylics. I am on the "dark side" trying hard to cross back into the light 🤣. Have an oil underpainted, ready for the completion when it calls me again, but loving water colour challenge. Much more difficult. He could, but it wouldn't look the same at all. If he uses his regular style, it'd look just like any other watercolor painting he's done, which is loose and semi-abstract. You can easily visualize how it'd look. You need gouache (or acrylics) to make it look as graphic as gouache allows you to.
