Had KRK R8 Gen1's for like 15 years and they are still as good as new and sound clutch. Never had a better purchase in my life, and I've gotten 8 years out of a very timely built gaming PC. Highly recommend KRK rockets to anybody just looking for insane sound quality for a moderate price. Only con is the sound interface requirement.

@richrenken5 жыл бұрын
Rich from KRK here. I had, and they are still using them, professional full time producers, mixers and engineers using them during beta testing. You can do anything with these. And yes, the EQ is for room anomalies but also you can adjust them to your own taste.
@kattwilliams3765 жыл бұрын
Answering the question more generally: Speakers are not made equally. No amount of EQ for example can make up for a heavy cone design (even if that will give you a warmer sound because it's less able to precisely reproduce high frequencies). Decades ago most producers swore by the NS-10, mainly because its cones were made of paper and thus were very light and moved very precisely. Despite that, the NS-10 was a horrible sounding speaker but a very very good studio monitor. When producing, your ideal goal is not flat: it's accurate. Flatness is only one side of the accuracy challenge.

Hi Digital DJ Tips. Rich from KRK here. Love your website. I subscribe to your emails too. The new app is coming soon. It is a stand alone product that will work with G4 and then more of our monitors and other monitors. One thing to add. Kevlar is the material that we have used in our drivers for over 30 years but never in the ROKIT line until now. I started the new G4 saying, I want Kevlar and then saved cost anywhere I could to make that happen at this price point. I have one question, what do you mean they are not the most accurate? I love to learn and hear more about things like this and how they are perceived. They are dead flat from 43Hz to 40kHz. There is no roll of on the high end. The Kevlar material is what gives them warmth without losing clarity. On my beta team and still using these monitors are Producers Jacquire King (Kings of Leon, Norah Jones), Claudio Cueni (2pac, Lalah Hathaway), Dan Konopka (OK Go), Kris Allen (American Idol winner) plus another 35 pro and semi-pro producers from all genres. They are making records with these new G4s.

I was watching a lot of studio monitor reviews recently because I want to buy a pair for music listening. In my listening experience KRK G3 sound a bit "muddy" (at least through youtube) compared to some other monitors that I'm considering. I think these people are talking about those. However, having listened to KRK 7 G4 (again, on youtube), I can say that they sound much better than G3s. My narrowed down selection is Adam t5v/t7v, Presonus E4.5/E5, but I would love to hear KRK Rokit RP7 G4 too because they sounded really good compared to Adam/Presonus.
