I hadn't thought about Krokus in awhile, so really enjoyed this. I had several of their cassettes, with Head Hunter being the one I listened to the most...

How the hell did I miss this show! Love the Krokus from Metal Rendezvous, Hardware, One Vice A Time, Headhunter to The Blitz. I got into Krokus when my older brother came home from the Army in 81with a bunch of bunch of cassettes and among those were Metal Rendezvous and Hardware! and I dug them and never looked back! stayed a fan up until The Blitz. My Brother wound up staying with them and had everything. And I agree the later albums with Mark, Fernando, Chris and Mark are very good as is 88's Heart Attack. I didn't put any covers on my list although they do them great and my favorite is BTO's Stayed Awake All Night. And with that said... 5. Bedside Radio 4. Long Stick Goes Boom 3. Screaming In The Night 2. Midnight Maniac 1. Headhunter Honorable Mentions: Ready To Burn & Heatstrokes

My cousin and I were listening to the radio and heard Long Stick come over the radio. We had been spending all our time cruising with Highway to Hell in his 8-track player so, we immediately thought this was a new AC/DC song. A few minutes later the DJ said it was Krokus and we had a new band to follow. I was really into Krokus for about four albums. Hardware, One Vice At a Time, Headhunter, and The Blitz. I got Metal-Rendevous right after The Blitz came out and it wasn't as heavy as I expected it to be so, I dfidn't really listen to it until years later. I needed to do my top 10 for these guys. 10) Burning Bones (Hardware) 09) Heatstrokes (Metal-Rendevous) 08) Our Love (The Blitz) 07) To the Top (One Vice At a Time) 06) Eat the Rich (Headhunter) 05) Night Wolf (Headhunter) 04) Long Stick Goes Boom (One Vice At a Time) 03) Headhunter (Headhunter) 02) Winning Man (Hardware) 01) Screaming In the Night (Headhunter)

I don't own all the Krokus albums but Headhunter was a huge album to me as a kid that I still enjoy going back to. I seen Krokus live in 1984 on The Blitz tour and the whole show aired on MTV, I was 14 at the time 🤘

It's good to see Krokus getting some attention, and I appreciate the coverage on the lesser known, or appreciated bands, of the time that deserved more in my opinion. We could easily do a top 10 for these guys considering their body of work. I think many of us could claim a top 5 on albums like Headhunter, The Blitz, and Heart Attack alone. I'm not totally qualified, in the interest of fairness, because I don't even know the band's first few albums before they officially became the Krokus that we'd all come to know in the '80s and I'm not familiar with the last studio release. That said, there's still plenty of great music on the 70% of albums I do know, and I'm glad to contribute my opinion. Top Five: 1. Wild Love 2. Head Hunter 3. Out of Control 4. Fire 5. Rock the Block Honorable mentions: Long Stick Goes Boom Winning Man Blood Comes Easy Hoodoo woman Rock the Nation Ready to Burn In the Dead of Night Electric Man Thoughts on Heart Attack... terrific comeback record! Awful logo aside, it's the music that counts, and considering their misstep on Change of Address, these guys produced a heavy record that should have fared better. Unfortunately, it was too little too late. Credit where it's due though--they tried and succeeded to produce an album that stood up to the best of their peers at the time. By the way, for anyone that's not familiar with another Swiss hard rock band called Shakra, they've also been around forever and have a pretty impressive body of work. Worth checking out.

If I remember correctly, Krokus started out as a prog band in the mid-seventies, but then they heard AC/DC and wanted to go in that direction. They got a hold of Marc Storace and off they went as a hard rock act.

This is probably the show I'd most have enjoyed being on. I have definite opinions about Krokus. They aren't the most original band, but points for execution on a lot of their stuff. To me they sound a bit like AC/DC crossed with Judas Priest. This is not a bad thing, and I think they make good use of their influences. 5. Alive and Screaming - Midnite Maniac. This is a tossup, could have been several tracks from Headhunter or scattered throughout the catalog. 4. One Vice at a Time - Bad Boys Rag Dolls. This is just catchy and good. 3. Hoodoo - Drive It In. This song grew on me a lot. It sounds a bit like ZZ Top the way the bass drops down and comes back up, think it's a I-VI-VII thing. 2. Headhunter - Eat The Rich. One of my favorite songs ever, would be the clear #1 for me, except: 1. Headhunter - Night Wolf. 10 out of 5 stars. It's fast, the solo is cool, there are little howls, in it, the main riff just cooks. Honorable mentions: most of the rest of Headhunter, about half of Stampede (one of their better later albums), Too Wired To Sleep from Hellraiser, Highway Song from their second album, To You All, which isn't bad either but is not metal at all. The first album is a curiosity and sounds like heavy 60s prog without prog instruments. There's some good refinement of the golden age formula on some of the later records. I agree that Ballroom Blitz is pretty much just filler. It's heavier than Sweet but not as intense. They do this with Born to be Wild, too.

@@GrantsRockWarehaus Find those 2 BTO albums with Fred and Jim Clench trading vocals. The songs aren't up to par with the earlier stuff, but Jim is such a better singer than egomaniac Randy lol..It all comes back to Jim Clench, the best London accent of any Canadian vocalist. Its because he sang along with Daltrey + McCartney as a child he said.

The reason Blitz and Change Of Address failed was because each only had a few good songs,so even if their manager or record company were mostly to blame, they just didn't have the material and the choice of cover tunes was also odd. With that being said,i absolutely love Midnight Maniac,,,Let This Love Begin and I even liked Burning Up The Night lol now the rest of those albums are horrid.
