Got stabbed by a toothpick myself. It was standing straight on a rug. I have no idea how it got like that except that my parents were responsible for it somehow. Thinking back on it, a lot of my worst injuries as a child were because my parents or older sisters screwed around and I got injured for it.

I have same experience as Kronii here. A rusted nail same, same deep wound... Weird thing is you don't feel any pain, because that part and feet is probably part where pain neuron isn't that much there. What it feels like to get such a wound around 10 years old? Doesn't feel pain, can still walk normally, it doesn't bleed. Felt strange about it at that time XDDD It was a rusted nail but I didn't even do anything about it. My brother also think nothing about it, he was the one who pulled it out for me because it penetrated through my slipper and stucked really tight.

I can understand why. When I played Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, I wasn't exactly careful when parkouring and platforming. I just went with the flow. If I made a mistake and ended up falling several feet or sliced and stabbed by traps, I'd just rewind time and redo it better.

it hurrts surprisingly little because the stab process is relatively painless. I stepped on a binder once, it didn't hurt at all because it was so fast I didn't even know it happened until i looked down then was like "oh shit". Definitlely not as bad as a rusty nail because binders don't rust because they're made from stainless steel. It's surprising how much pain and panick correlates. But yeah, just alcohol wipe and slap a band-aid on there and it'll all be good (most of the time).

Stepping on a rusty nail can easily lead to tetanus if you haven't been inoculated for it recently. It's a good idea to go to the doctor immediately because it is a really horrible infection with a 1/10 chance of death.

It's not the rust or the nail, it just happens that tetanus lives in soil and manure, and rusty nails or barbed wire are often found on farms. But that's beside the point, just get the shot and you can cut yourself on whatever you like!

I did this in shop class in high school. Right after telling some other guys to watch out for nails. Luckily I wore boots so it didn't go super deep but it still broke skin. Had to get a tetanus shot, but the thing I remember most was the look on the nurse face after she told my mom on the phone.

I once accidentally stepped on a calf hoof (good dog treat) barefooted. It bled for a while but I didn't think much of it. A few days later and something about the wound feels off. So I sit down and try applying some pressure and feel something move underneath the skin. I press harder and plop, a chunk of razor sharp loose horn the size of a pinky finger nail flies out. When I stepped on the hoof, it must've broken off inside my foot. I'd unknowingly been part cow for half a week. A wild ride.

When she said to not look at the pain, this is actually true. My right knee has a big cut nearly 2 inches wide and an inch deep. It was really dripping and I really didn't feel pain until I started to look at it. My mother had to rush me to the hospital. The weird thing was it actually wasn't that painful. It was a bizarre experience and somehow I just didn't panic when I knew that something have had a big cut on my knee that was caused by something unknown.

Oddly enough, it happened to me too when I was young. I was wearing cheap slippers while playing by the river. Our house was under construction so there's some stuff laying around and my bumass stepped on a nail and it almost wen throught my foot. Relateable in some ways. When I was younger, I once stepped on a stiff wire that was somewhere on the ground. Went straight through the sole of my boot and 4 or 5 centimeters though my foot. There was obviously some pain but it really didn't feel like much. It was only weird after I saw what happened. Although the diameter of a nail could be much bigger ofc. What would suck a lot is if nerves got damaged, luckily I think that wasn't the case.

There was once someone steal my shoes when I enter a public bathroom (we need to use the toilet slippers) and I just walked away with not shoes on.
