I work mostly in S QL Server Management Studio 8 hours a day five days a week and that shit does not have an official dark mode. You have to hack it in and it is a pain when it reverts itself. I can somewhat understand your pain. Thankfully my physical set up is mostly black.

My setup is so dark that you only see the screens at night with the lights off of course everything UI wise is dark but everything in the case too and there's no RGB lights turned on except a faint blue on my keyboard. So i can't believe Kronii would actually switch to light mode.

I miss the beiges and brows of old, OLD computers. White and light mode sucks, but black everything sucks up so much light from the environment that your room needs to be bright for you to see (try using a black keyboard in a room lit by mood ambient lighting without squinting), so it invalidates the whole 'dark' thing going.

You can still get beige keyboards, just not really monitors (I think lighter coloured bevels are actually worse for your eyes right?). You can balance things out with a wooden desk, plants, more natural lighting etc. I don’t think a white or black setup is too bad. plus it’s healthier to learn to touch type in general to avoid having to look down at your keyboard in any environment

Problem is when you deal with passwords a lot in programs without the "peek" function for safety reasons (two people looking at the screen), which invalidates touch typing. I know, I'm in kind of a niche here. That said I wanted the beige and brown (in general, not just keyboards) for looks as well. I like those colors.

As a painter, I would recommend using a semi‐gloss Gray or a Flat-Silver as accents to balance out the color scheme. If you don't like the idea of using black, that is.

I don't know, light mode should be worse from the fact that you're going to constantly suffer color fatigue (color fatigue is the reason they use blues or greens in hospitals for example, especially in surgery, because, you do not want your personel constantly suffer red color fatigue and be unable to distinguish what is bleeding and what is just normal colored organs)

My brother just got into PC gaming and his prebuilt PC came with very bright RGB lights. After a month he had to learn to install an RGB controller in order to turn off the lights. In the meantime I just slap my PC and setup together. No RGB for me. I even taped over the brand logo for my graphics card which cannot be turned off.

My tower (currently broken but i haven't taken it in for repairs yet) has RGB and i just keep it under the table so it lights up the room but doesn't hurt my eyes. that might work for your brother

@@terran046 His room and table is pretty small so there's only room on the table. It's one of those medium-sized box cases with glass panel on one side. A co-worker brought his tower PC to work recently. I didn't asked the spec but it's several generations behind mine, probably a pre-pandemic build. Brings back memories to my old tower builds but I don't miss the noisy case fans. Now, I'm an ITX case enthusiast so my PC is portable and can be placed anywhere.

@@youcansmile683 It's part of the case's RGB system connected to the motherboard RGB connector so there's no driver to mess around with. I'm not a fan, let alone an expert, of RGB so I don't want to mess up opening someone else's PC. My brother finally asked the seller and others on Tiktok and the third party controller is the only solution. My own Gigabyte motherboard has built in RGB that I turned it off immediately. And yet the Auros app/driver keep forgetting that I DON'T WANT RGB so every now and then it keeps turning it on. Like now.
