untamed is also wildly fun in PVE. there's a trait that reduces all your cooldowns when you interrupt a foe, and with hammer having multiple interrupts, some cantrips having knockdown etc etc, it basically allows you to use all your skills constantly with barely any cooldown

Loving the Spectre, but hitting single targets can be pretty difficult at times, especially in the more chaotic fights. Now if only people will actually stack so I can hit them with my Wells >

I'm getting interesting reaction when bringing Specter into raid groups. They didn't expect to see Specter when I announce my role as heal alac. Not only do I fulfill that role, I also bypassed a lot of raid mechanics thanks to the builtin mobility of Specter. If you build Specter for good Alac uptime, you just get the extra mobility by default. Though this spec could use a bit more flexibility. Building Specter for Alac will pretty much consume all of your Utility slots. Other options for heal Alac have more flexibility in their build due to their good baseline Alac uptime. Just having an extra 3 seconds to Specter's Alac would solve this issue. One more thing. I did not forsee this but it's so easy to see retrospectively. There is one content where Specter absolutely shines: The Twisted Marionette. I carried every person I got paired up with during the 2v1 phase, just because of the unique way Specter works.

Fully agree with putting more alacrity on the kit. GW2 loves to put the defining boons exclusively on Utility skills or exclusively on traits, and it makes it feel so bad.

All three are really good. Untamed loved it in pvp as trapper build. Mechanist is good every where and is easy to learn n play. Specter is really cool but could use some changes like you mentioned. 🐰

i love your ideas with specter! specter is SUCH a good dps. and the solo ally targeting is really only good in fractals and OW with a duo imo. otherwise you don’t see much use and can only play dps. so i’d like to see those AOE heals so i could actually play a FULL heal alac spec in the bigger end game PVE content

One thing for certain, people complain about mechanist is the Bot are way too strong & so the rifle, maybe nerf the dmg a little bit. Other then that, support mechanist (mace/shield) are balance yet viable , love it. I'm myself a mechanist as well XD

afk pMech benchmark using auto-casting commands on golem is 28k losing 0.5k dps 😁 The Mech nerf coming is to remove the ferocity from power mech and the mech no longer shoots the rocket from the trait 👍 let's hope that knocks the dps down by 4k to 34k below power holo and power scrapper 😏 the patch notes are not included in the notes but in the 2hour podcast they did on the topic 😱 so not everyone is aware of this nerf which is coming 😂

The moving of the alac trait to grandmaster is interesting since Tempest needs to do that. Sharing alac is a grandmaster trait. For quickharb, to share quickness is a grandmaster trait (as well as master but still).

My one suggestion for the mechanist is purely graphical - Shrink the chunky bastards! Theyre bigger than Charr!

A good way to make Untamed feel more fleshed out, is if every weapon's whole skill bar flipped over like the hammer does. Each weapon's unleashed skills could have a theme so to speak. I think this would go a long way towards opening up different viable builds for different situations and play styles. As well as making Untamed feel like a fully thought out spec, and not just a neat idea for the hammer.

This is my biggest gripe about Untamed. It ONLY affects hammer to any significant degree, when I was really looking forward to a new pet-centric longbow or greatsword build for Ranger

While I'm sure the Untamed functions fine, I just don't see it filling any class fantasy. It kind of just feels like you're playing hot potato between you and your pet, but instead of a potato it's poop, and you smell so bad that you deal extra damage to their noses, or you take less damage cause they don't even want to touch you. Cmon what about a Beast Rider spec, where it places alot of emphasis on your pet/mounts abilities, maybe something like wolves and cats gain increased damage for going fast, and maintaining momentum. Or how about the turtle having strong CC and defensives on their kit? There's also the option for a TRUE Druid, one that's not based on celestial magic, but actual nature. Imagine slinging vines, thorns, poisons around to combat enemies. Yes there can be healing too, but that's already in place with current Druid. Or how about having actual Shapeshifter? Soulbeast is kool, but man soo many people love that fantasy of shapeshifting into bears, cats, birds, shark, etc. As for the Specter, hard disagree on removing shadowsteps on wells. A big part of what differentiates classes from one another, in regards to skill types, is how they function. Scrapper wells follow them, necro's are ranged, Chrono has a end effect, and Specter teleports. It really captures the idea of the thief moving through the shadows they manipulate, which is great. The wells may offer alot of mobility, but they're actual range is not very far. And again that's fine. In my opinion games should prioritize fun/feel, variety/thematics, and THEN balance. Not to say that balance isn't important, but balance should serve the prior categories first, not the other way around.

Funny thing, Mechanist was so mind numbing and strong, it convinced me to give more serious thoughts on finding a new main after 10 years.

Think if mechanism had been a shroud like a "Armour up" stance it hadn't been as god mode as it is because GW2 has a problem with pets so adding a pet to a profession makes it strong. For example add a Rune set that gives a pet in combat and just see how much differences it do. I find it funny that every profession get subsequent more Time of the video.

I would love to get something like APU from Matrix or Titan from Titanfall where you can call down a Mech and depending how you trait it you either drive it or it is your mechanoid but as we now have the current Mechanist and Holosmith which basically is you equipping additional tool to make you stronger I don't see ANet doing it at all 😓

In general, I agree, but I feel like single target healing just does not work well in this game. Unless the next xpac drastically changes things, it seems like it's always going to value group healing and boons over single target healing/boons. Granted leaving shadow shroud for specter grants massive healing/barrier atm, but then they're nerfing shroud healh in all game modes because it's too powerful in pvp... I'm feeling more confident in anet lately with their decisions in many regards, but they are going to have to tackle their philosophy on healing and support soon, especially with how much mech and FB bring to the table.

I’m sad that Anet will be destroying Mechanist because of vocal elitist minority. People don’t realize that Mechanist is a true gift to those who have involuntary limited and cannot upkeep as many inputs.

If you made that mechanist trait change I think you might break the game by giving the alacrity talent with the DPS stats on your mech. So your mech could do near maximum DPS and also give alacrity when the engineer gives barrier. But specter. Omg. What the hell is wrong with this spec lol... A pile of disjointed and anti synergistic skills and talents. It sure is one of the most metal concepts in the game though.

There’s no way you think the traits are perfectly fine. Maybe this is just me coming from a WvW roaming background but there’s a lot of disjointedness with this specialization and it’s people like you and teapot (arena partners) that actually get through to the Devs and have them actually listen to your suggestions. And then they take those suggestions and change things that aren’t part of the main issues. Please go to the Thief forums and read “The penalties of being a good thief” as well as “Thoughts on the balance preview stream” and if you can, try to look for my posts. I’m not trying to be hostile in anyway towards you, I’m just trying to reach out to someone who has a voice.

Untamed is in desperate need of attention and yet didn't even get a mention in the recent balance passes. Its a class that brings nothing, struggles to make meaningful damage and that is too built around its main weapon. I am hoping we see it get some help in the October patch as the new hammer berserker is going to take its role completely.

I have seen mechanists soloing difficult HPs without moving one step, his ugly Green robot does everything, it's not healthy for the game!
