I'll be following this for sure. I just got an '01 FXDWG and I was planning on a 19" up front with some more rubber and a brake upgrade but that front end is very appealing. My Triumph has the typical 180/120 combo on 17" wheels and it is way more compliant than the Harley.

Definitely the way to go. The wide glide is definitely not a very good handling motorcycle. The 41 mm wide front end is not so great and the 32° raked neck is also not so great. These are 0° trees so it should help with the rake a little bit and Stiffen up the front end

May be a few dumb questions here but wanting to do this set up on my 02 fxd. 1. Is the axle needed custom unit or a standard Gsxr axle? 2. Does the stock Harley mag wheel work on that set up? 3. Afaik the front ends on dyna's and sportsters are the same. The OG super glide used a sportster front end so harley just stuck with it.

Sand paper on the bearing races? Brandon says "C'mon man". You can use a beater screw driver/pry bar and just beat those races out. I have the proper tool (special two half moons and a driver, which makes it super easy) but its not that hard. Put the two races and the lower tree in the freezer for 30-60 minutes and this shrinks the metal. the races drop into the head stock of the frame and the bearing drops onto the lower. Bearing packer is $15-25? please use a dust shield on top of the top bearing. I worked at a shop like this in 2010.
