Look up bees wax for pool tables they use it to fill in the holes for bolting down the slate also works extremely well

If the Texas speed kit comes with GM head gaskets good to go, if not trash them. Oem mls gaskets are top shelf and seal/hold great. Just a little tip.

I mean if they’re 241 heads I wouldn’t go through all that head work. If they’re 243 or 799 by all means do it. Ported 241s will make what stock 243/799s make fyi.

It doesn’t melt it. It turns it to dust. And the motor doesn’t get hot enough to do that.

You should just grab Texas speeds prc 243 heads with race valves. Even better, then stock 243 heads. Do you even have 243???? heads. If their not 243's recycle them. No one wants those. And porting is a waste of money. Built many ls1 like yours. Do you have 3.73 or 3.92 gears? A lot of guys love 3.92, 3.73 are perfect. If lucky 426hp 420trq. 42lb injectors. Obviously, nothing was has been done to your car, so you might want to go all in. Don't drop the oil pick-up tube bolt in the oil pan. Make sure to dab a little gasket sealer where the block, timming cover, and oil pan come together when you change the oil pump. That all apples. Are head bolt not studs. You have like 426hp studs not needed.

I’m putting ARP head bolts in it. We pulled the oil pan and cleaned everything out. When we put the oil pump in. Texas Speed doesn’t have any heads in stock at the moment we called them. I can’t get anything in time. We ported these heads. Did Machine work on them.
