Is there a reason you perform this with the initiating attacker out of measure? Most of the times you demoed this, I noticed the blow would have been significantly short. This false measure changes the responding footwork and cutting lines making it look very different from other interpretations Ive seen.

Tend to do just short when we are un protected so we don't hit each other. And even with pads on we are just playing with a technique, not out to kill or hurt each other.

​@@ReddragonlongswordacademyAgreed, when I used it in spars the cut was at the hands or forearms, but the steps are the same.
