Nice overview! Do you like this better than the Mr. Coffee that's similar? I'm looking for a gift for a retired family member. She's the only one who drinks coffee in the house but occasionally has guests like me who love coffee. I am looking for something simple for everyday use to replace her near ancient Hamilton flex brew. I don't think she needs a pod option.

Amazon says this coffee maker uses a #2 cone filter?

I use number 4, #2 is so small

@@JustADad going by the 10 cup capacity #4 makes more sense. Maybe a mistake by Amazon. A #4 paper filter fits good?

I notice that there's not much space to pour the water in the water reservoir, i heard you say to pour slowly. But what if the person that uses the coffee maker doesn't have that much strength in their hand. Also most coffee maker companies say not to open the water brewing lid, for the reason it may cause Burns to the person's hands and it also throws off the water flow. I know you taking water temperature reading. But its not a good idea to open the water brewing lid, some people may want to copy what your doing.

I agree ! Let the brewer do it's job brewing and don't get burned by hot brewing water! It's unsafe to lift it during brewing.
