I got one of these a while back. Good construction, easy to add accessories. I also changed the harness for the H harness. I also added side car mag holders on each side. I take care of my kit, and if needs repair, I will do so. If it craps out, I'll just buy another one. It serves me very well on the range on my property🤙🏽

Definitely a decent bit of kit for the money, I actually dropped mine onto a WOSPORT chassis (spiritus thing 2 copy) and it's pretty nice.
@SauerkrautIsGood5 ай бұрын
What company makes the side car mag holder you're talking about? All I get out of searching "side car" is the T.Rex pistol mag holster extension.
@Muddy_Reviews5 ай бұрын
@SauerkrautIsGood I rewatched the review and didn't notice I said sidecarnpouches. However, I would have been referring to wings. Spiritus makes some that would work on this as well as numerous repro companies like Wosport, Emerson, etc. Look for wing expanders, and you should find what you are looking for.

I own a Haley Micro, probably going to buy a krydex for my son. People are overthinking the micro rig, it's just a big pocket that you wear on your upper body. I wouldn't ever need to use this as a soldier, but as a civi I just need somewhere to keep my mags and some other small items while I'm outside on the range. I currently have a radio, mags, multitool, ear plugs, headlamp, knife, flashlight, and extra batteries. My only complaint is that I need someplace to hold a water bottle.
@Muddy_Reviews2 ай бұрын
@joemama69448 You make valid points. The largest issue is a water bottle. I completely agree. I kind of laugh when I see grown men argue and berate one another over magazine counts and kit. Your son will love the Krydex Haley repro. Makes for a great light summer rig and integrates fantasticly as a placard.

I just got mine and if you take out the plastic mag retainers you can fit 6 mags into it securely and they will still go in and out easily enough.

So the default Krydex male buckles do work with a Haley plate carrier? Or only with modification? Thanks for the review.
@midoriiyahebi3535 Жыл бұрын
That Micro chest rig looks pretty sweet, though I might snatch that placard and have it repurposed for being attached to a plate carrier. Not sure if it’s possible to do it on the Venum-X chest rig, but I think it’s possible on that one plate carrier. 😊
@Muddy_Reviews Жыл бұрын
If the plate carrier is set up to accept buckle placards, you should be good to go.
@midoriiyahebi3535 Жыл бұрын
@@Muddy_Reviews Well, the locally made plate carrier doesn’t have buckles, but it doesn’t stop me from giving it a single vertical MOLLE loop on both left and right sides of the front plate bag in order for it to accept placards.

Ill probably stick with Haley, but i am considering this style of rig to go with my MD Textil carrier/harness set up. I want to have something to put my rappelling gear in. I like this design because i can go to work with my pistol and reload from either side and avoid the rappel device. It is skinny so I have mobility. I could probably set my other equipment (minimally) along my belt (raptor tactical MK5). The main thing I like about these chest rigs/placards is how easy it is to swap them out for different missions. Where i dont need a lot of rapplling gear i can simply swap my rig out for something like the Haley Strategic Heavy or HRT placard. If it is sentry stuff I refer to my other plate carriers. For very fast and lightweight stuff i just rock a chest rig. Good to see civilians arming themselves.
@Muddy_Reviews11 ай бұрын
That's interesting man, these Krydex rigs are decently built so far and I will say it really is growing on me. I have been running this during Airsoft games and it is a viable option and quickly becoming something I would want for my actual kit fir contingencies. I 100 percent want to get a real Haley rig in Multicam now to accompany this Krydex.
@SOLveteran11111 ай бұрын
@Muddy_Reviews good to know. Beez Combat Systems also makes camo webbing for micro chest rigs and other gear. Novritch has some good stuff too. And yeah good luck with getting multicam from Haley. I'm waiting for their products to get back in stock. If you need any rifle retention I recommend Titan Retention as well. There's also the agilite buddystrap and first-year hand warmer that are good. The buddy strap is a bit heavy. As far as handwarmers go you can use them as pouches for lightweight things.
@SOLveteran11111 ай бұрын
@Muddy_Reviews apart from that, stay safe out there. I don't think it is unreasonable that this equipment will be put to heavy use soon. It's cool that you are getting the airsoft training and experience with this gear instead of having to damage and drop loads of money on your other gear for real world conflict. Train how you fight. I feel like airsoft is really starting to produce innovation and inspiration. Keep up the good work. 👍

@SOLveteran111 appreciate it, man. I will, and I think so, too. There are absolutely limitations to Airsoft, but there are also a lot of great benefits to it as a teaching a d training tool. Especially in areas and techniques where traditionally, engagements were close in affairs. That and it is a fun game.

Nice review! I been debating picking up something like that.. I have the Ferro big kangorroo style pouch i got in a buy from someone for a FCPC, but its empty. Cost is an issue has real halay is extremly overpriced here ... would have to go with copy. But even ferro own version with the kangoroo is expensive. Can get a full version one for like 50 on repro. Current setup has 3 tall esstac pouch + an elastic 3 mag pouch in front. So i can run just the 3, or go up to 6 depending on the game.
@Muddy_Reviews Жыл бұрын
It really is a nice rig for what it is. I have set it up on both a Ferro Concepts Slickster and Slickster Molle Base. I have used it interchangeably with a DOPE pouch and like both. I lf I had to choose one. I think the Krydex (Haley) would win only because it would work with more options for going as a chest rig or placard.

The Haley isnt worth double the price though.
@Muddy_Reviews11 ай бұрын
That could be argued either way to be completely honest. The Haleys price tag difference most likely comes down to material cost. They are most likely using NIR compliant material when possible ( Maybe even FR), their hardware is going to be of better quality and also NIR compliant. You are also paying a.higher price. Then there is the question of longevity. The Krydex is nice, but it is still to be seen how well it will hold.up comparwd.to.a.Haley.

Could you explain how you modified the buckles on the rig? I would like to change mine, just concerned I will mess the rig up as they are sowed on.
@Muddy_Reviews11 ай бұрын
It is pretty easy actually, you can take a Dremel tool and CAREFULLY cut the buckles at the corners so they come off the rig. The buckles will be trash at this point however so you will need new buckles. You can either get Split-Bar repair buckles or you can take standard buckles and take a Dremel tool and cut these buckles at the center of the bar and basically turn them into Split bar buckles. Check out this short I made that kind of covers exactly what I am talking about. kzbin.infoDW22YA0439E?si=0Ot2Q4pz1umgnEHX Unless you are referring to the top two male buckles then that was a different animal altogether. For that, I completely unstitched the buckles from the chest rig and then removed the original buckles and sewed in a length on 1-inch webbing with hook and loop sewn to either side of the webbing to correspond to the correct side it needed in order to fasten down to the areas of the chest rig. This allows me to undo the buckles and swap them out for G-Hooks at my leisure and requires a rudimentary knowledge of sewing and a machine strong enough to sew leather usually for a domestic machine so it can handle webbing and Cordura. I really hope I answered your question approprietly.

How can the top two male buckles be swapped out for better quality ITW Nexus buckles? Do the straps have to be cut in order to swap those since they don't have the split in the ring section? I'm wanting to attach to a Haley Flat Pack so stronger buckles would be great if possible to replace without sewing.
@Muddy_Reviews10 ай бұрын
You can actually cut them.off with a dremel tool and then just add ITW repair buckles. I modded mine the way I did so I could swap between buckles and G hooks to make it compatible with Ferro and other csrriers.

You aren't wrong. If you are doing mechanized infantry riding in vehicles or boats like I was, it was nice to have it close to the body and easily accessible. I liked having my stuff off my hips and on my vest when I was up gunning in a Hummer or MRAP, so I didn't have to reach down into the turret for anything. Doing landwarfare and patrolling too much on the vest does indeed get in the way.
