One day... it seems that whenever I think of making such a video they disappear somewhere. ;-)

Many thanks Phil, that was a lovely set of videos. I think foxes are the most beautiful animals, but, yes a but I feel so sad when they kill my hens for no reason!!! Take care.

Thank you. When I was a kid our big brown hen nested and laid eggs in the garden hedge. One day before the eggs were due to hatch a fox got her. Our other brown hen was more successful.

Lovely to see so many foxes, I live in a rural area and hardly ever see then. My nephew lives in Greenwich and sees them all the time. 😮. The spider put on a good performance. 👍🏻😊

So interesting..I loved the wildlife down on the river where I lived for about 30 yrs..many of the very same creatures... I fed so many critters there .. even spiders! 😂 the big fat garden variety..I'd bring them in before winter watch them build a nice web usually in my kitchen window and fed them bugs . they never lived long it was just the nature ..they always pass on once they've laid a nice sac of little ones..I waited until after. how are your aquariums doing? Haven't seen any news for a good while.. Enjoyed the critters..Thanks..I do like most buggy creatures too..😅

Thank you. I like spiders too. The aquariums are fine and the canal fish are growing fast. They'll have to be released soon...

I've noticed in other wildlife night shots on the Internet that the animals tend to stare directly at the camera as if they can see it , it has been put forward that perhaps they can see the infrared light which of course humans can't.
@NarrowboatJourneys Жыл бұрын
I don't know but it probably depends on which IR LEDs are used? Humans can see 850Nm as a dull red glow when looking directly at the LEDs, but we can't see 940Nm.

Great vlog Phil. Never gave it a thought of how much activity there is when one falls asleep on the cut at night. Excellent vlog to prove it.. keep safe pal..😮😊

It's so much fun to see the critters (and the cats!). We don't have otters here - but we do have mink!
@NarrowboatJourneys Жыл бұрын
Our mink are American mink. Animal activists raided mink farms years ago and released them into the wild.

Thanks for that I often wonder what’s on the tow path at night we’ve only seen a fox once on the high peak canal . I have 2 cameras at home I put out at night and it’s the highlight of the day to look each morning and see which foxes came into our garden , just love it , thanks so much for showing us .

Thank you Phil for the nature animals. How big are the spiders? The camera lens it looks big! On Long Island, New York the spiders are about 1 inch and the web is between 3- 6 feet in size! Usually if end up walking into it I'll yell and the shirt comes flying off and shake off my head. I'm 6 foot 5 inches tall and don't like any spiders 🤣. Enjoy your weekend Phil😃
@NarrowboatJourneys Жыл бұрын
These spiders are very small and harmless. They just look huge be when they're right up close to the lens.
