Krypton Factor 1995 Group C, Heat 2 Assault Course

Challenge have apparently got the rights to show this series. I've been informed that it should start on Saturday 25th June.

I really couldn't take to the production changes to the assault course. The music doesn't improve the atmosphere, it destroys it. It was nice to have just the wind and rain battering the mics and screaming army blokes, made you feel like you were up there with them on those biting moors. The contestant profiling cuts right in to the action, killing off continuity and your attention to their progress. The camera work is more close-up handheld shots than back in the 80's, but I preferred it when they used mainly track side camera footage, as you got a better sense of the scale of the course and the close battles for leadership. And moving the round to literally cold open the show was a disaster, as you were following four complete strangers and didn't care which one won. Didn't help that you couldn't tell who was winning anyway, due to the rule change where they were competing against individual times rather than directly each other. Just read an interview where Gordon Burns expressed regret at being involved with the revamp, as it didn't work for either him nor the viewers. I remember another interview where he said that he'd only stayed with it out of loyalty.
