That's why I was all-in on Tulsi, despite being (if I HAD to label myself) a largely right leaning centrist with libertarian tendencies. I don't ask for much from a politician, but honesty is paramount, and if you can't be honest enough to call people on your own side out if they do some shady business and instead circle the wagons and excuse bad behavior, I want nothing to do with you. You don't have to "cancel" them even, just call things straight: right is right and wrong is wrong. I think Bernie has terrible ideas, but I still liked him in the 2016 primaries because he was up against 2 horrific liars; and in 2020, my focus shifted to Tulsi because her ideas were decidedly less bad than Bernie's.

Which begs the question: Why do they even consider this news and worth talking about? I love Joe, but anyone who follows him knows he jumps back and forth and agrees with whomever is on the show. He loved Bernie and Cornel West, and then also agreed with Dan Crenshaw that people suffering was a necessary part of a country's success... This is the shit that drives me crazy about Krystal and Saagar: They love to talk about how they focus on the important political news of the days, but they straight up fanboy over Joe Rogan and always talk about him and what he says, even if its just him endorsing Rising (when Krystal and Saagar were still there). @@jl8410 Because he has a lot of pull and is closer to what the average American is thinking then CNN or FOX. Rogan represents your average Joe who isn't paying attention to politics or might not have a clue what's going on politically but speaks his mind about a shit ton of cultural issues. Cancel Culture, China, Economy. All these things he talks about are what others are thinking but sometimes too afraid to talk about. Like when he had Alex Jones on his podcast. We all know Jones can be INSANE but he seemed much more reasonable and not crazy when he spoke on Rogan's Podcast then Schulz had him on his podcast. Fact is, he's doing something the media forgot to do a long time ago. Step out of their comfort zone and talk to the other side. The Media sides with their audience too much. Joe said himself on his podcast that he's "left" on almost everything except for guns and maybe a few other issues. 👉Yeah, like me, Rogan does support issues that are traditionally deemed LIBERAL, like opposing the ridiculously counterproductive "war on drugs", support of gay marriage, sensible environmental issues, FREE SPEECH, etc. ☢️But the modern left has radicalized to the point where traditional liberals have more in common with most modern, run-of-the-mill centrist conservatives than they do with "progressives". That's because the NEW left have pretty much fully embraced illiberal Marxism/communism, which is based not in reform, but subversion & DESTRUCTION of America's systems, including free speech, equal rights, anti-discrimination, etc! The vast majority of the new left AND the democrats have fully embraced the notion of judging people NOT on their character or abilities, but PRIMARILY on the color of their skin, and their gender identity, lumping everyone into intersectional hierarchies, where those with the most "intersectional brownie points" being deemed most valuable. Thats not to mention the ridiculous idea of completely redefining everything about America as "evil and oppressive", and literally stereotyping white people as the evil oppressors, and non-whites as basically "noble savages", who the left perceive as being too incompetent to be held to ANY level of personal responsibility. Therefore, they can't be blamed for anything that goes wrong in their own lives. It's all random white people's fault!! All of that nonsense is being parroted in the "news" media, in critical race theory, which is being forced into our schools, govt institutions, military, etc! The democrats have removed "gendered language" from congress, claiming that using terms like "mother and father" are somehow "oppressive"!

Even Michael Brooks in his book criticizes anyone who would give the right the time of day and "platform" them. It just amazes me. I just figure that if their ideas are so wrong, which they are, then it should be easy to dismantle them, which Joe does with ease frequently and without being combative, and in a way that your average person might or at least resonate with. The left is unhinged atm and abusively erects an echo-silo in our culture that ever more intensively and brazenly dismisses the right outright and precludes discourse, meanwhile accepting this wave of turning culture into cult we call woke, that's bizarroland mental illness of religious proportions. And again, Joe articulates the average post-woke person's views on it that retains the good while exposing its insane excesses.

Yeah, but beware of this false idea of equal exchange of ideas. Like, if you have, por example, 99,9% of scientists agreeing about something and 0,01% of them saying otherwise, based on analysis actual data, not opinion, giving equal time to "both sides" creates, actually, an imbalance. This is only an example. I think this issue can be found, to a reasonable extent, in Rogan's approach. Discussing ideas is not just thinking in abstract terms. Many ideas have big consequences. This is a nuance I would like to see in Krystal's otherwise nuanced take.

The Capitol Police allowing the January 6 protesters into the Capitol was not an act of kindness. The protesters were unarmed and mostly peaceful and were lured into the Capitol by the armed police who stood by, and then later the protesters were demonized and charged with crimes in the most heavy-handed manner possible as many are still in custody. The BLM protesters, in contrast, are rarely charged with crimes no matter how much property damage they cause or how violent they are. Also, note that the January 6 protesters were there to try to pressure lawmakers to look into election irregularities, and when protesters in other countries try to do the same to their lawmakers and the protesters are arrested, we condemn those governments.

Just because someone is out of touch and ignorant doesn't mean they are acting in bad faith. Kyle Kullinski and Joe got into a debate on their podcast the other day about healthcare. Joe had some bad right wing takes, Kyle explained why single payer healthcare is a lot better for the American people than the current profit driven system. Joe then changed his mind on the matter. Joe isn't a poltical junkie. He's an actor and a commentator, most people who aren't totally into politics tend to be misinformed at times. You can't write people off and close down all communication just because you disagree with people! That's why you Americans are so divided. Working class people in your country have been divided up like pizza and it makes you powerless against the corrupt system. You are divided between left and right, men and woman, gay and straight, black and white. This is intentional. As someone who has spend years following politics closely I've changed my mind on many occasions when I learn new information. The problem is you all see each other as 'the other' and give yourselves no patience or empathy. That's thanks to you Hate Inc media that does nothing but freak you all out and get you hating each other. Not everyone is too far gone. Most people aren't Nazis, there's a small pool of actual psychopaths in the US and most of them are in positions of power. Your right wing uncle who has been brainwashed isn't the enemy. The enemy is the Corporations and billionaires who divide you all up so they can screw you all over economically. You all need to come out of your little safe bubbles and start organising together. You are all Americans. There are so many monsters in that country, but victims of propaganda are not monsters. Propaganda is incredibly sophisticated today. Look what Nazi propaganda did to Germany! Well, today's propaganda is a lot more refined and it's being pushed out to working class people globally as a way to get working class people voting against their own interests. Instead of being upset at people with no power, essentially, like Joe Rogan why don't you get mad at the real oligarchs running the show. Weapons manufacturing CEOs, Oil tycoons, banking cartels, silicon valley technocrats, corrupt intelligence agencies and politicans. Joe didn't ask to be as popular as he is and he is untitled to his own opinion even if it's wrong. There's no laws stating that people have to understand poltical science to be a podcaster. Get over it. Flipping out about Joe Rogan is a waste of energy. Get out into your community and protest war, greed, poverty and corruption. Those are all real issues.

Then the secular religion moved even further left to the point where enforcing borders is largely immoral, the biological differences between men and women don’t matter, people can change their gender fluidly throughout the day or week, you can critique the sexism or homophobia of western culture but never of Islam or else you’re a bigot, and if you’re white you have the original sin of inherent racism as one of the oppressors which should be taught to all young schoolchildren. Two things: A: You say crime is up everywhere in the US, irrespective of a location's 'defund the police' stance. Please cite a source... B: If A is correct, why would anyplace WANT to defund?
@DontKillFriends
@DontKillFriends 3 жыл бұрын
Well the "defund the police" movement had a list of policy goals that didn't equate to "cancel police departments." It's a terrible name. However, massive legitimate defunding hasn't been the case, even in a city or two where Joe indicated that it had been a "disaster." More like, the movement was more aggressive in that particular area and it caused issues, not that the police departments got legitimately defunded and there weren't enough police and crime took over. That's not what happened. Also, more police funding and stricter laws don't always equal crime rates decreasing. In fact, the war n drugs becoming more aggressive actually increased both black market crime and severity of crimes committed, as well as literally drug use. So you could say "hey drug use increased we need MORE DEA FUNDING." No we absolutely don't, and we absolutely need the exact opposite. Now drug crimes are different, police do stop actual violent crimes as well, so we can't just cancel police departments. It's just a misnomer that any major organized movement is actually trying to. It's not that simple.
@Ghaos
@Ghaos 3 жыл бұрын
@@DontKillFriends Let's stay focused. "Defund the Police" movements were created to feed to myth that 'overpoliced areas led to more crime'. That previous statement makes no sense, and is usually debunked by people who actually live in those areas. I mean think about it logically why would an area WITH AN OVERABUNDANCE OF POLICE led to more crime, if anything you'd get the opposite. An increased police presence does not induce otherwise "law abiding citizens" to not commit crime. If you area have lots of police, its because they are being called. These neighborhoods with increased police presence need to understand "why" their youths are attracted to crime in the first place. Walgreens, for example, is closing many of their stores in San Fran because of shoplifting costs. These thieves are stealing razors and deodorant, not food, so it not like they are stealing to eat.

Krystal is so right. This shit drives me crazy. I remember last summer my dad & I getting into a fight because he hates Rogan because he thought he was a Trump supporter based off one thing he heard quoted out of context on MSM but couldn't remember exactly what it was or what the context was. My dad is an MSNBC & CNN addict & they have rotted his brain. My sister also asked last summer why Joe is so popular & influential. As I started to answer my dad just jumps in, "He's an asshole!" Once again, my dad has NEVER listened to a single episode. I continued to tell my sister that Joe is a populist person who will talk to anyone on the spectrum so you get really interesting conversations with fascinating people about diverse topics & the perspectives are never stale because he doesn't only talk to people inside a specific ideological bubble. I also pointed out he is firmly on the Left believing in Universal Healthcare, free education, & a social safety net that provides for everyone's basic needs. The most "Right-wing" thing about him is that he is pro 2nd amendment, but I don't see that as a Right vs Left issue because Marx was also pro 2A & believed the workers should never be disarmed. I'm also a pro 2A Leftist. However like a rational person he is also in favor of background checks & requiring licensing & training for guns. He's also anti-woke culture, which many other Leftists are also against since it's pointlessly divisive & studies show it actually hurts support for the policies we want. He's a pragmatic & realistic Leftist without labeling himself as such because without picking a side he can actually have much more influence in swaying people towards the policies we all want by talking about them as a normal person & not someone pushing their side's agenda. Vanguard just did a video with a clip from Kyle's interview acting like Joe is a centrist who thought poor people shouldn't have as good healthcare & Kyle had to push him to realize M4A was the better system. All because Joe asked how doctor's would be incentivized to excel in their field & if top of the line doctor's could still charge more for their level of service. It's a completely fair question for someone trying to figure out how the system would work or just to find out in more detail how Kyle sees the ideal system working. It's like those guys have never heard of playing devil's advocate. Joe has a diverse audience & interviews diverse people. He was likely asking that question because it has been proposed by other guests or he knows it's something people in his audience would wonder or would be their concern/objection. Giving Kyle the opportunity to make that case to his audience of millions was clearly to support it & not try to prove the potential flaws. I also feel Kyle could've done a much better job of explaining how it could work that wouldn't upset the system Joe is talking about too much. Doctor's could still have private practices, but those people who go to them would have to pay out of pocket. Doctor's could start out in the public system & aspire to become so good in their field that they can leave & start a private practice for the ultra wealthy if they want. Canada still has private practices outside of the nationalized healthcare system. It's not hard. Think of it like plastic surgeons. Many do actual medically necessary work that would be covered by insurance after an accident. Many also do purely cosmetic surgery that people pay out of pocket for. Those doctors make a calculations that they can make more by going into the strictly out of pocket surgery category, and that could still be the case with M4A if they decide they want their private practice to operate outside of the government healthcare system. When someone's career (like pro sports) depends on them getting the best knee surgeon & making sure it goes as good as possible the first time I think it's completely reasonable for them to be able to pay for the highest level care as long as that doesn't directly push anyone out. Now if this were a situation of a lifesaving treatment like a heart transplant I would definitely agree that nobody should be able to pay more to jump to the top of the list or get better care that may be taken from someone else who also needs it to survive.

In an attempt to distract it from the real divide; the uber wealthy and everyone else. The biggest problem in getting AMerica unified around a common direction for improvement is that the upper middle half of the middle class perceive themselves and their interests as aligned with the uber wealthy ... THAT has been the elites greatest magic trick ... getting the middle class' support when in point of fact the elite suck them dry for taxes to have them pay for ever more disinfo psyop campaigns and programmes designed to further get them to agree to actions that are against their own interests and further screw them over repeatedly. It does nothing for strength of tendons (some studies show +1% though), it does not change.hip flexor tie in angle or lung capacity, this is why you see so few ftm competitors in strength and explosive power based sports. Now there are more drastic changes pre puberty, but that is a different discussion.

Crime is up across the board but that doesn't mean defunding police has no effect. Even if it didn't initially, once criminal activity rises then having less resources for law enforcement is absolutely a detriment.

Ronald Reagan, 1962 Diana Walker He may be the patron saint of limited government, but Ronald Reagan started out as a registered Democrat and New Deal supporter. An F.D.R. fan, the Gipper campaigned for Helen Gahagan Douglas in her fruitless 1950 Senate race against Richard Nixon and encouraged Dwight D. Eisenhower to run for President as a Democrat in 1952. While he was working as a spokesman for General Electric, however, his views shifted right. "Under the tousled boyish haircut," he wrote Vice President Nixon of John F. Kennedy in 1960, "is still old Karl Marx." By the time it actually happened in 1962, Reagan's decision to cross over to the GOP didn't come as much of a surprise. "I didn't leave the Democratic Party," he famously said. "The party left me."

It's time to REFUND THE POLICE. I want my money back. We aren't getting the behavior we pay for. Get a refund and use that money to deal with economic social issues. Housing, mental health and different solutions for homeless communities.

Why do states who already spend the most on housing and homeless, have less housing and more homeless? Or states that spend less on police have more crime? Hmmm

@Zero Gravity never, ever gonna happen. And thank God. The wave of criminality that would follow defunding the police would terrify the population beyond belief. Then the only safe ppl would be the billionaires who can afford private security.

@@mediatool9596 that is already the case. An average citizen is never safe from crime. We can only hope to have justice after the fact, which depending on the crime you are lucky to have a police report filed. The re is little effort put into crime prevention or solving crime. Police are more interested in drug crimes which allow for property forfeitures and prison profits. These types of criminals once released from prison are also very easily manipulated right back into the system. It's a literal Cash cow for police departments throughout the entire country. Please departments have a virtual blank check for investigating drug crimes.
