I have my issues with Tales of Arise, but darn it if Alphen and Shionne's relationship didn't evolve into one of the sweetest and most wholesome romances I've seen in a game. I couldn't have been more thrilled that they got their happy fairytale ending. They deserved it.

Alphen x Shionne is such a refreshing take for a JRPG, nay, video game romance. Gamers in general seem to be extremely allergic to romantic stories outside of visual novels (which is unfortunate for a romance nut like me), which is why the extent of romance in most games is usually just ship teasing with no canonical relationship or resolution in the end. It's always the same "will-they-or-won't-they" thing, if there's even romance at all. Additionally, I also abhor gamers and fans who treat characters like they're pop idols who "shouldn't be in a relationship because they're my waifu!", I'm convinced that it's these sad and demented people who are a major reason as to why it's rare to get good romance in games. Which is exactly why I adore this game, and our leads. It built the romance gradually through the course of the game, with a very natural chemistry between them, and did not shy away from giving us an unambiguous and romantic happy conclusion. The only thing lacking from this ending? Babies!

Ive always been a sucker for romances in JRPGs if there done right, and im really happy that the relationship between Alphen and Shionne was one of the ones done right im really happy they got there moments to show how much they care for one another. Even from the start of the game it was always those 2 from the very start

[Spoilers for Arise and Berseria] I had originally heard Blue Moon from the trailer before I played the game, and it really started to give me doubts about the survivability of the characters, and I was afraid I'd grow attached to them, then lose them. Berseria's storyline was amazing. The dark storyline paired with the Anti-Hero themes really hit hard, and the soundtrack didn't help with the raw emotions the story conveyed. It became my favorite JRPG very quickly, but ultimately, the ending left me feeling empty and slightly more bitter than sweet. After playing this game I couldn't have been more satisfied with the ending, and this song hurt in a good way once I beat it. Okay I'm sorry for rambling, take my like.

Trust me even I thought of that too after: Milla, Ludger, Fractured Milla, Sorey and Velvet, a lot of people thought Shionne was going to die when she told Alphen to wait on confessing to her. But was overjoyed when Rinwell brought up the Will of Dahna. At least there is a being that can counteract the Great Spirit of Dahna, but is so diluted in every Renan and Dahnan that everyone needs to have the same thought to act as the will of Dahna and the ton Astral Energy within the Wedge to be used to separate the Great Spirit from Shionne and to fuse both worlds.

I really love your AMV! Thank you very much! :) I am a huge fan of Story-driven RPGs and, to be honest, I really love Happy Endings. So Tales of Arise was a hell of a game! The Romance between Alphen and Shionne is just to heartwarming and cute and your AMV catches it perfectly! After the main story ended, Tales of Arise gave me that sad but deeply satisfying feeling that only truly exceptional games give me: I'm really sad that the story is told... would love to see more content from Alphen and Shionne.

This defeats any moronic feminist argunment anout the damsel in distress. Shionne wanted to save herself, and the chad Alphen stepped into helped to escape enslavement. I love this story so much. I still cry at this song, and yes, they are manly tears. Akphen went through heck and high water for Shionne and she still tried to reject him until she pointed her rifle at him and he said the immortal words "THEN GO AHEAD AND SHOOT ME!". Chad Alphen, we give yuou the salute!
