Thank you thank you for sharing your experience! It’s nice to hear that folks even at your level feel the same emotions the rest of us do when it comes to auditioning ❤

it would be cool to see a video on how you stay healthy as a performer!

Hey Krystina! You wanna know what Lindsay Pearce, current Elphaba on Broadway, said when asked what she does when she gets those "I'm not good enough, I'll never work again" voices in her head? I wrote it down! She said: “I’ll remind myself that my inner gremlin is a liar, and doesn’t want the best for me, but my true self does, so I’ll listen to her.” How about that?? For you, I'd add that you then say, "I was Gretchen in Mean Girls on Broadway" over and over and over until the bad feelings go away. 😉

My week has been nothing but highs! I currently signed on to a show here in San Diego and we had opened the show. Critics are loving the play, all great reviews! I have been performing 8 shows a week & I am loving it! The show's run is from November 12 to December 4. It's crazy how our show is almost closet to the end & I am already trying to figure out what should the next project for me should be. I love this show & the cast but I am not ready to say goodbye

Again thanks for sharing. I can FULLY relate to turning into a comedian under pressure and when nervous! That is my default setting. My WIN was that I was cast in an interesting play called Faustus: That Damned Woman. I mentioned having a recall on another video I think and it was movement based. I am DEFINITELY not a dancer, so was very proud to have booked it from that. My LOW is also not getting a part in a play with an incredible director(she's currently directing a Broadway play that transferred from the West End and is also really lovely too, urghhhh) I worked so hard on the part and didn't get it. However, I worked with my acting coach and I did have a breakthrough with him, so though I didn't get the part, I did learn a lot. I totally agree it is SO hard not to take it personally, but I always get told that by virtue of being in the room you COULD do the job. Everything else is up to the team. Thanks for allowing us to share Xx

Ok! I have been waiting to list my highs and lows for this week! Starting a few days before to do some catch-up. High #1: I went to NYC over Veterans Day weekend with my mom!! It was my first time going in 8 years! I had been wanting to go since I started really getting into theatre, which has been a while, so it was an incredible time! High #2: While we were there, I saw my first Broadway show, which was Wicked!!! I had seen it on tour a little over a year before, but I’ll NEVER get tired of that show! It was amazing! High #3: Nov. 14 was my 16th birthday! That was the reason we went on the trip. She knew I had been wanting to go, so she had been planning on taking me for #16! That was my main gift, other than money for the trip from other family members, as well as some clothes and coats. Tons of fun!! Low: Fortunately, there’s only one of these. I have not been feeling awesome lately. I’ve been coughing up a storm and my sinuses have been kinda messed up. I’ve tested negative for Covid twice, so we think it’s the RSV crap that’s been going around lately. I guess this leads up to my question: how do you, as a performer, help yourself recover physically and mentally when you are not feeling well and can’t perform?

My highs for this week was that I walked 10K in honour and remembrance of the five people who were killed at the night club in Colorado Springs also as well for all of the Trans people who we remember on Trans Remembrance Day. I have also been recently feeling frustrated as not enough Trans People are represented in theatre and when they are they are misrepresented or have very few moments in the show. How can we get more shows to have Tans rep? #TRANSRIGHTSMATTER!!
