he went off on drug binges until december 24, 2000. i thought he was clean during the californication era, but after reading his book 'scar tissue', i found out i was wrong. he would buy like $5,000 worth of heroin and cocaine and check himself into a seedy hotel room, and go at it hard for days straight. amazing he is still alive and making music

It's one of the best and very touching documentaries ever made. I first saw it in 2002 and was very happy to find it again in 2006. I really hate to say it, but this video is so touching, that in couple of moments my eyes were wet during watching and listening to this film.
@clairehavemann216210 жыл бұрын
if u read his book, he goes into much more details than in this little documentary. almost 500 pages of interesting life stories. if u havent already read it, definately check it out if u are a fan.

I've read this book in 2005) Have two various editions. It is really intersting but has tons of drug stories and sex stories - too much. In this movie there is a full harmony) Funny that he has a lot of date mistakes in "Scar Tissue" book. All in all the book is really impressive.

This documentary is full of errors and moments where they skip important things like the creation of albums and nuances...BSSM was mentioned as the 'next' album, but they should have mentioned Mother's Milk. Same goes for the 'next'album they made with John.. they should have mentioned One Hot Minute had come before that. Californication was with John but wasn't the next album after Blood Sugar. Also, all eras and band memembers are mixed up in footage, when the subject is very specific. I guess this doc is for anyone but the fans.
@Elisa-rh9kl4 жыл бұрын
Californication hadn’t come out when this was filmed.
@TJDrumsRHCP4 жыл бұрын
@@Elisa-rh9kl that fact doesn't change anything about the critique I had for this doc, does it? After all, we don't need to know Californication existed in order to know One Hot Minute came after Blood Sugar Sex Magik, something this doc didn't get right.
