Thank you Ellie and Senci for your videos that documented the journey on the Camino del Norte. The emotion you all felt upon arriving to Santiago was moving. Congratulations! I also walked the Camino del Norte in the spring of 2024, but from Bilbao to Santiago. For me, it was the adventure and experience of a lifetime. It was a journey I will never forget. I felt the same pride for all of the Pilgrims on the Camino just as you did.

Hi there! It was so wonderful to follow all your camino films out of that rainy day in Germany today. It has brought back so many memories of one of the best times in my own life. And even some new views of some places that I have overseen so far (?) Gives me the motivation to do it again 🙂 Thanks for sharing, Ultreia and buen camino! Berthold

So Happy for you guys and feel your emotions in front of the church hugging and kissing. The bagpipes playing while walking into the square tee the last scene perfectly. Great jobs! Thanks for your inspirations and tip along the way for such a huge achievement and I am thinking about doing this walk next year. There are many challenges that were lay out in all your previous videos and the one that I worry the most is blisters…. Looking forward to see where your next adventure or simply an easy lazy stop out of Europe because of the 90 day rule. Cheers, have another cup of coffee :)

Thank you for seeing it, we were trying to transfer feeling we felt to other people or help them remember how it feels, thank you for recognizing it! Oh wow we are so glad they helped you, that's why we were making them to help any future pilgrims in making some bigger decision, we are so happy that it helped you! And congratulations on finishing it, amazing accomplishment. Exactly one Camino is done, but there is much more Caminos in your life, wow good luck with the Japanese one and tell us your impression please, would love to do that one as well! Buen Camino.

@@ellieandsenci Portugues was my first Camino, and Portugal is my favorite country. I definitely recommend it if you want a much easier experience that is more about the food and the people than it is about pretty views. If you do it, definitely go for the Spiritual Variant.

I found your videos before I left on the Norte and catching up to where I’d seen in your videos was so cool. I finished back in August and have been waiting for this video! I too walked as a challenge for myself and it was such an incredible experience. Arriving in Santiago especially! Walking into the square felt like a gut punch of emotion. Instant tears, and again watching your arrival. I sat for hours there people watching. Tears. Laughs. It really feels like a one of a kind day and one of a kind place. Wondering if you felt the post Camino blues? That was oddly rougher for me then any part of the walk. 😅

Wow, it's incredible to hear about your Camino experience! We are so glad our videos could be a part of your journey, and it must have been an amazing feeling to catch up with where you'd seen in them. I completely understand the overwhelming emotions upon arriving in Santiago - it's a moment that's truly hard to put into words. The mix of tears, laughs, and the sense of accomplishment is something you'll carry with you for a lifetime. As for the post-Camino blues, you're definitely not alone in feeling that way. It's quite common to experience a bit of a 'Camino hangover' after such a transformative experience. The transition back to everyday life can be challenging because the Camino is so unique and unlike anything else. But remember, the lessons and memories you've gained will stay with you, and the Camino can continue to inspire and guide you in your everyday life. It's a part of you now, and you can always find ways to keep its spirit alive. 😊

Hi Ellie & Senci. I literally just discovered your channel form this video, and what a video it was. You guys beamed with joy all day. I love your personal reflections about the journey and everyone on the Camino this day. I just got off the Camino “The Portuguese Way” myself and have been posting short videos of my experience along the way. I have been walking it in section, one section per trip. I’ve now completed 380 km from Lisbon to Porto. I am still waiting for my day in Santiago. Watching you guys cross that threshold drew up so many emotions for me. Thank you for sharing this moment. I am going to start following you guys. I just subscribed to your channel. Now I have to go back and watch your videos leading up to this moment. Next year, I will have my moment in Santiago too!!🎉. Thanks guys!

Hi there! Oh you are just too kind, thank you so much for your kind words. Oh wow how was the Portuguese? We are having thoughts about doing that one down the road, so would love to hear more about it from inside! Your day in Santiago is coming, sooner than you think and it will be one of the greatest moments in your life! We usually make 20-30 minutes videos, but rounding the corner to cathedral and sitting in front of it left us speechless, we were just sitting there staring at it, so many feelings and emotions. Can't wait for you to feel the same, wish it happens as soon as possible and Buen Camino for your future Camino.

@@ellieandsenci Thank you guys! I am looking forward to that moment! The Portuguese Way is beautiful. I started from Lisbon. Most people start in Porto (380km further north). I highly recommend starting in Lisbon if you want a longer experience with a more intimate view of the country. That lower section of the Camino is far less popular, which I liked. At any given day, I would see a half dozen pilgrims on the trail. It was enough to have a small community, but few enough to really enjoy lots of unobstructed personal time in nature and the countryside. The only part I didn’t like was the 2nd and 3rd section out of Lisbon. Too industrial. Some pilgrims skipped it. I wanted to appreciate all facets of the country so I did those two sections. The one big difference between the Spain routes and the Portuguese routes is there is no Pilgrams Menus in Portugal. Albergues don’t serve food at all. You are mostly going to the local markets (which are wonderful) and picking up food that you can cook in the Albergue kitchens. In bigger towns, there are restaurants too. So food wise, its more expensive in general as I mentioned in a previous comment. In general, from what I heard from other pilgrims, the Portuguese Camino is a very different experience. Some love it more, some less. I guess it depends on your personality and what your seeking on the Camino. I just know that the route starting further south in Lisbon is awesome If you want personal time with the Camino. I can’t speak for the most popular route starting in Porto (generally referred to as the Portuguese Way, although the entire route from Lisbon is part of that same way) because I haven’t gotten there yet.
