The cool thing about these parallel departures on 1L and 1R is how the SIDs are configured to safely execute them. Flights on the SSTIK4 departure depart 1L and make a left turn, then circle around to the south or east, while flights on the TRUKN2 departure use 1R and make a right turn, eventually heading toward the north or east. This ensures that both planes can simultaneously depart and remain safely separated.

Perfect video ... and thank you so much for holding the camera landscape. I've seen similar videos that were ruined because the video was in portrait orientation. Ten out of ten for this video. This was a 1 in a 1 000 000 opportunity that was well used.

Well played controller, I would say because without the Controller's approval the pilot won't take any action unless necessary. I think the KSFO controller wanted to have some fun so he made the Airbus A320 wait until the Boeing 737 lined up and gave clearance for Takeoff to both of them at the same time.

Love this video! Is this AMERICAN AIRLINES vs UNITED AIRLINES? Seems like United is taking off just a tad later than AA, however it is clearly ‘winning the race’ before taking off to wherever it’s heading. @3snowyman3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment! While KSFO is a local radio station, when it comes to aviation, the ICAO identifier of San Francisco International airport is KSFO. The IATA code however, is SFO. But as a pilot, we typically refer to airports as their ICAO identifier.
