as a totally new shooter I had this exact dilemma. chose the P10 C for its ergonomics, trigger and rear sight (hated a plastic site to be on my pistol). very happy with my decision. In Israel we can only have one gun so it is my every day gun now. To my opinion it is good looking and a great shooting gun. the first mag I ever shoot with it (and third overall!) I had all bullets touching each other!!! it is THAT easy to shoot. LOVE IT. Price in Israel was 870$ for CZ P10 C , and 1400$ for g19 gen 5..... thanks for the great review

CZ did more with their first generation P10 than Glock has done in 5 generations of Glocks as far as ergonomics go. The P10 is only going to get better considering how relatively bug-free the rollout of the gun has been. I love my G43 and my Gen4 G19 but they will be my last Glock purchases. My P10 just arrived and I will start running 10k rounds through it as soon as the hurricane is past.

Then Mr. Glock says hes not too concerned about the 2nd amendment and his consumer market because of his contracts are with law enforcement and military. So I started looking for other options . And I must say this is a very good one. as well as the canik. The souped up canik. (Same price range and you get even more.) Good job honest review thank you. I will subscribe.

I went with the gen 3. I would’ve went 5 but I really don’t care for the front serrations on the newer models. Which did you end up getting? (out of curiosity) I have both the 17 & 19. They’ve never had a malfunction and just run as intended. Wouldn’t mind having the CZ P10C though. I’ve heard a lot of good things about it and the trigger is solid out of the box.
@ajfornes6728 Жыл бұрын
@@sig3ldunc4nI I ended up going with the Glock 19 gen 5 (the batch that didn’t have the front serrations yet, because like you, I didn’t care for them haha) and have since expanded my handgun collection. My absolute favorite right now would definitely be the Smith and Wesson M&P 2.0. It feels better in my hand than the Glock does. I’ve heard really good things about the CZ p10 c, but sadly don’t have any experience with it.

I love my P10 BUT I did have a couple issues...new out of the box I was disappointed w the trigger everyone RAVED about..yes..it did get MUCH better after 300-500 rounds. The mag release was pretty damn stiff.. slightly over compress from both sides little by little until it's perfect for you.. The trigger safety bar...ugh..on mine it would not go flush to the trigger face and the squared edges were noticeable..this was easy..an Emery board..I took off just enough for it to be flush to the face when pressed..NO MORE..then rounded the edges..The only other quirk was really not a problem for me but many have complained that the slide release/lock is hard to press to release, personally I was taught to rack it back to avoid rounding out corners on the frame and slide release itself so I slingshot it if you will however I am growing fond of the auto feed design of this gun, slap the mag up in there and it auto chambers the fresh mags new round right in there..hope this helps some of you. and yes i took the Emery board to the factory stiples and softenedthe tips ever so slightly..to your taste..it is now PERFECT FOR ME..and it didn't cost more than a nail file to fix!! AWESOME PISTOL!!

I agree!!! Plastic sights? And they didn't do enough to change or improve the Gen 5 anyway. And they still have the stupid hump in the heel of your hand. Glock has the worst ergonomics of any pistol I've tried. The one think I do like is that the Glock is just a little smaller overall, with the same barrel length and very light weight. Glock does a good job with that.

Thank you for your well-balanced review. And despite being very much a Glock guy, I tend to agree with your final choice. The P-10C is just a better updated 'Glock' than the authentic product is. I admit that I was a bit put off by the CZ for copying the controls of the Glock as much as they did, but the gun shoots pretty well for me. The only true downside for me is that the CZ is taller, and if I were considering it as my EDC gun (I'm not) I would have concerns about its grip potentially printing more than a G19 would. Similar issue that I have with my VP9, a gun I really enjoy shooting, but won't use for anything other than as a range toy. I like a lot of things about the new Gen5 design, and I do think that its trigger is slightly better than the usually sloppy, creepy Gen4 mechanisms. The elimination of the finger grooves is a huge plus for me since I've long felt my Gen2 G19 has been the nicest of the bunch prior to the Gen5 guns. The DLC coating is a plus if it really does mitigate the rusting issues that us Gen4 owners have been saddled with, though I wish it was less slick (or Glock had sharpened up the slide serrations). Plastic sights don't bother me, since I've always viewed them as placeholders. Their 3-dot options would be wasted since I prefer straight-8 sights. So it's no biggie that plastic remains on the base configuration. But what others have posted about Glock otherwise not doing enough, well I think that there's a lot of credence to that that line of thinking. And I do think Glock needs to get more aggressive on their price points. They're no longer the bargain brand that could, going against SIG P229s, HK USPcs and spendier types. The 1990s is two decades ago. Plus Glock is probably not going to make it in 40S&W or 357SIG, at least not with only 2 cross pins and no place to located the third without potentially messing up the action of the ambi slide stop. Guess I must remain happy with my Gen4 G23 EDC.
@KSGunGuy017 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much for your thoughts 993! I agree that the P10, in short, is a better upgraded glock. That said, I too like a few of the changes and consider them welcome. I agree the slick slide deserves better serrations to compensate. As for the sights, I agree they serve as placeholders for most, but I think they should have at least made the steel sights standard for those who don't want to or can't change them out. I think that would have helped justify the price a bit more. Interesting about the 40 and 357 Sig... I hadn't thought of that but I bet you are 100% correct. Thank you again and cheers!

I was not overly impressed by the Gen 5 offerings. I had the opportunity to shoot the G19 and G17 and was not moved by the way they shoot, it felt like pretty much the same. Great video first time viewer on your channel and new subscriber.. Am post 70 so eyes have faded to say the least , am left eye dormant currently have left lens set @ 20 inches and right for distance.. seem to work ok, but am considering going with top 1/3 bi-focal @ 20 in and bottom for distance ..would you be kind enough to share how you have your eye wear set for shooting if any thing other than your standard prescription.. thanks appreciate any insight you might wish to share..

Mat, welcome to the channel and thank you for the thoughts and question! Glad you found Walther... the PPS is my go to carry. Great guns for sure! As for the glasses, I am not eye dominant which means neither of my eyes focus on the target completely. It's a weird effect but I am used to it. My glasses are a normal prescription and relatively light so I can't offer much insight there. Maybe some other commenters will have suggestions for you. Once again, thank you and cheers!

I would agree that I enjoy shooting my P10C more than I do my Gen 5 19 MOS but that extra bit of grip length along with that super aggressive grip texture always snags on my shirts causing it to print so I’m not confident carrying it. I think even without the aggressive grip texture the extra length alone would cause a printing problem with my body type. I wish they made something between the P10C and P10S 😂…. P10CS?? Lol. The sweet spot for my is a Gen5 with a SLR magwell so I get that bottom shelf or I just carry my MR920. Great vids man!

Is there a reason why trigger guards always have that point at the front and aren't just rounded?
@KSGunGuy017 жыл бұрын
Great question Kyle! I think some people use that as a finger rest while shooting so maybe it keeps the finger locked in place. That's only a guess so take it for what it's worth. Thank you and cheers!

The new finish isn't as good. I shot 150 rounds through my gen5 and I have significant wear on the barrel
@KSGunGuy017 жыл бұрын
Thank you for sharing Peach! I am starting to notice some unusual wear as well and I'm only 300 rounds through the 19. It's really frustrating for sure and I wonder what Glock will say about it (if anything). Cheers!
@veevans01ify7 жыл бұрын
Peach Brick wow that's not good. I have 400 through my P10C and see very little wear. Heck I just broke down my Gen 4 Glock 19 and have very little wear after running over 800 rounds through it. Thanks for the info.
@Alex543217 жыл бұрын
Echoing your comment my gen 4 has very little wear with a similar round count as well. The finish on the barrel reminds me PSA Nitride on the freedom uppers. Seems cheaper when compared with previous generations. The slide shows no wear marks on a positive note.

Hi KS. Hope you are doing well. I have a question and wonder if you can help. I have a Canik tp9sf which has been really good. I can trade it for a new Ruger american pistol 9mm. Which I also like. What is your opinion ? Thanks.
@KSGunGuy017 жыл бұрын
Great question David! The Canik has a major recall on it right now so you may not be able to trade it. That said, I hear the Ruger is pretty good but a fair amount larger I believe. I recommend handling one and maybe even shooting it to see how it works for you. Thank you as always and cheers brother!

I'm not a Glock hater in fact I own the Glock 19, I like the gun and it will always be part of my collection..however my Sigs are my favorite....The P226 Legion is awesome, but to compare a similar size gun, I just picked up the P320 x-carry.....if after 500-1000 rounds and it proves itself...my Glock may truly become a safe queen.....that X-Carry is a FANTASTIC gun....the most accurate striker fired pistol I've ever shot

Great review. Based on what I see here Glock missed the opportunity to knock the competition back on its heals again with a more value added feature rich gen5 gun. An analogy would be similar to purchasing similar cars...one has luxury items, the other does not, yet the luxury car costs less. And your choice is....?duh. However, never under estimate the salesman...as in Glocks marketing department, the best weapon they have
@KSGunGuy017 жыл бұрын
Excellent points Ron! I think that's a great analogy and agree that they are really relying heavily on the marketing department now. Thank you and cheers!

To the reviewer in the video, or someone else with the experience to answer my question. Whats the best trigger of the CZ 75 SP Shadow Orange then the CZ P10 C? I heard the Orange have a insane trigger but have a higher price point. Is there any significant difference, or are they equally great?

With rubber Talon grips, the CZ all day long however, stock for stock out of the box, the Glock 19 GEN 5. I have the GEN 5 G19 with the front serrations, and no cut out in the magazine well, and have shot the CZ P10c, roughly 150 rounds, I shoot both very well. The CZ's stippling is just a bit too aggressive for my taste, its even more aggressive than my M&P 9 2.0, which is a very nice shooter.

Do you have any experience with the Berreta 92fs ? I want to buy a metal frame gun. They are for sale at a local gun store for $499 with a Berreta gun bag and an extra magazine. I have been saving for the Sigsauer p226 with night sights at the same shop for $ 650.

KSGunGuy 01 Thanks KS. I have shot over 30 different guns in the last year. Many of my friends have incredible gun collections and because I am a new shooter they are always bringing 4 different high end guns to the range for me to shoot. Kind of like wanting to show off your new hot girlfriend. Lol ! So far my favorite has been the Sigsauer p226 legion sao 9mm. But it is not on the Massachusetts compliant list and is pretty expensive. Most of my friends are single with no one to answer to. I have been happily married for 27 years. I would like to keep it that way. Lol !

Lol! Yes, you have to have priorities for sure. It's a bummer it's not compliant so maybe the Beretta is the way to go. Cheers!

I own a Gen 4 G19 and now the CZ P-10C. The CZ wins in my opinion due to the much better trigger, the metal sights, the front cocking serrations, additional ambi controls, and grip ergonomics. Glock needs to step up its game. It's falling behind its competitors now.

P10C ergos are horrible. Doesn't point naturally, feels like a cheap toy, trigger is squishy, grip too small. Glock has the most natural fit in my hand of any pistol. Why buy a copy when you can have the original.
@josephguerra87637 жыл бұрын
Haha--- Obviously you haven't shot the P10.

Donald Weber I have a Glock 19 Gen 4 and will keep it. But I think that if you get a chance to shoot it you would consider purchasing it. I currently carry my P10C. I have shot both side by side more than twice and must say that the P10C is the better pistol. I held a G19 and G17 Gen 5. They feel a little better than the Gen 4s but the trigger and the ergos of the P10C tops it.

I totally agree...if I were to choose between these two out of the box I would definitely go with the CZ. The Gen5 is a big disappointment...and you know how I feel about my Glocks. It's bad that clone Glocks guns are beating out the original Glock...but the truth is the truth. Glock needs to get with the times and listen to what the customer wants. Who ever the clueless designer is needs to come talk to start watching KZbin...what we want is right here and very simple to do.

@opmike3437 жыл бұрын
I absolutely CANNOT believe that with all the new competition in the polymer handgun market, with all of the popularity in Glock grip modifications, that Glock did absolutely nothing to address the majority of people's complaints about the grip. Getting rid of the finger grooves should have been a minor part of a full grip redesign. Doesn't make any sense.

I just picked up a gen 4 19 today and shot it alongside my p10c. The 19 does feel like a slightly softer shooter, but the p10c wins on every other metric. I also got brass to the head/face a couple times when shooting the 19 (I know everyone is going to tell me that it is bad form/grip, but I have never had that happen with any other handgun), which is kind of irritating.
@KSGunGuy016 жыл бұрын
I doubt the brass to the head was bad form. Glocks tend to have erratic ejections but they definitely clear the gun. Thank you and cheers!
@culturetrash31916 жыл бұрын
Any fixes you would recommend for that? Does it get better as the gun is broken in or is it just something you have to live with?
@KSGunGuy016 жыл бұрын
It should get more consistent but it will still be a little erratic. It’s the way the extractor is shaped and moves.
@culturetrash31916 жыл бұрын
Man that is a bummer! Oh well, I appreciate the help! I may just rotate between my M&P 2.0c 3.6" and the CZ p-10c for my non-summer CCW then...don't want brass flying in my face in a self-defense situation.
@veevans01ify6 жыл бұрын
Luckily I live 30 min from Glock Inc. My Gen 5 19 had erratic case ejection. I Drove there and they fixed the issue. If it continues to be severe send it in to Glock Ice and they will fix it at no cost.
