The only issue here is lying for personal gain. People seem to get that confused with whether or not he was a good soldier, or a UFC badass or did more good than bad. I’m sure he was a great soldier. He’s obviously an MMA badass, and I’m sure he has done more good in his life than harm. But none of that is the point. The point the antihero podcast is making is that he undeniably lied in his book and on social media for personal gain/profit. I’m fine with profiting off telling your story, but if it’s in a nonfiction book, it better be truthful. Lying is never right. It never has been and never will be. If we don’t have objective truth, honesty and integrity, then we are bankrupt as a society. I would expect to be able to trust the word of a war hero. Unfortunately in Tim Kennedy’s case, I don’t trust a word he says now. The antihero podcast guys are just trying to hold their community to a reasonable standard. My brother watched a good friend of his die in Afghanistan. When he went to the VA to be evaluated for PTSD, they asked him what his friends name was. He could not for the life of him remember. After the evaluation was over, he was driving home, raked with guilt and holding back tears over that. He remembered his friend's name on the way home. It happens dude. I forgot the other day was my birthday... Sometimes people forget things with absolutely no reason or justification. It can happen man. I'm not saying whether Tim is lying or telling the truth, because we don't know. But I do know that it's plausible because it happened to someone I know, and forgetting for that brief amount of time has hurt my brother so badly because he loved the guy so much. But it happened...and just because it happened doesn't mean my brother lied. He talks about the guy a lot and tells stories about how awesome of a person he was and how much he misses him...... Finally, I was the NCOIC of SFARTAETC, so now you have lied about something I can verify all day long. There is no way you went twice and graduated twice. No F'ing way. If you graduated SFARTAETC or graduated OTC, you would not be allowed to enter SFARTAETC a second time, They would not give up a slot to you when you already have the skill. During my time only one guy who add graduated OTC went to SFARTAETC, and that was because he was taking a CSM slot in a CIF and he wanted to attend the same training as his men. That's honor Tim, so he was allowed to attend SFARTAETC. That CSM was not named Tim Kennedy. You lied again.

Upon the CIFs return from Iraq rotation, he attended SFARTAETC again for the identifier.

Funny story. I separated in 1992, and moved back to Massachusetts in 2008 to care for my dad. I learned MA was offering bonuses for veterans for serving in Desert Shield/Storm/Calm. So I submitted the application along with what I believed was sufficient evidence of my time in Saudi. Got rejected, with the reasoning being I wasn't awarded a certain medal believe it was the Southwest Asia medal. Well I hadn't heard of it, so I wrote the then Secretary of the Air Force explaining the situation and submitted my DD214 and the like. About 11 months later i was presented with a DD215 Amended, was given that medal and two others they overlooked as well along with an apology. So I know first hand this can happen.
