I don't think it was ever about the song. People are hating because he's not taking accountability for his controversies. Some people like the song. Some people think it's mid. Both valid opinions because music taste is subjective. People who hate the song are just displeased with the way he is handling the situation. The song by itself doesn't warrant this level of hate. It's not as terrible as people are making it out to be.
