Back when I was still in thailand training muay thai one of the most basic elbows they teach is Sok Tad..which is throw like a close hook. still utilizing the full torque of your hips legs. landing flush especially in that area would either make you see white dots everywhere or knock you out. and the way ksi uses his left hand to pull joe in then land the elbow pretty evident. but the pull clinch elbow is rare its usually used to pull in for knees. anyways i subbed. enjoyed your breakdown thanks Doc!

Good video! Ref really should have caught this in the ring, given Joe as much time as needed to say if he wanted to continue or not and show he could continue. If he couldnt it would be ruled no contest and the fight basically didnt happen on the records. People should realize elbows do land accidentally in boxing sometimes, but often not on a knockdown like this. But this is not pro boxing and in influencer spectacle boxing the records dont really mean very much. Its likely just gonna end with the win being negated and no rematch. At least thats how I see it.

it was a bad ref but frame by frame, ksi clipped his knuckles and that is the first impact, and his forearm is his arm in motion of a push, not a punch. similar happened in the eubank jr earlier this year and it wasnt overturned, in that fight the elbow was 100% intentional cuz nobody punches with the fist up

From what is shown, the left hand of ksi moved the momentum of Joe downwards to receive the suppose hook which missed leading to the knockout we see

He 100% hit him with his forearm/elbow. HOWEVER, he first hit him with his glove. AND EVEN IF HE HADN'T, it still wasn't intentional. Overall a very unlucky moment, which tainted his inevitable victory that was probably gonna happen within 20 seconds regardless, and otherwise later in the fight. Very unfortunate. Neither man deserves any hate for what happened. Oh, and neither does the ref, it was extremely hard to spot in the moment.

Accidental elbow, Joe tried to force a clinch and JJ had no where else for the elbow to go when missing the punch.. Joe dove in to JJ and ended up with his face blocking off the path for JJ’s elbow.. still should end up being no constest, but JJ shouldn’t get hate as it happened so fast and he likely did not know exactly what happened at the time.. big ups to both fighters, Joe could def be handling this more professionally, but I believe mams and JJ will do the right thing and announce no contest eventually..

I have been practicing Muay Thai for almost 25 years. I have received many many elbow strikes and watched hundreds of them in professional fights. There's no way Joe was knocked with that strike. That's why I don't watch KSI, Logan or Jake fights. All this pseudo fighters rigging fights is above ridiculous. But yes the elbow was 100% illegal. Ksi tried to disguise it as "clinching" .
