Hunting Gambel's Quail in Southwest Utah

We go gambling in Utah; hunting for Gambel's Quail that is. The Gambel's Quail can be found in the mountains around St. George near water sources. We take to the hills for this upland game adventure with Bret Wannacott and new friends like David Carr, a BYU student studying to be a wildlife biologist.

Pheasant season started today. No pheasants, so no one cares! Opening day of the deer hunt is now just another Saturday! In the 50s and 60s these were the two biggest days of the year. 200 thousand deer hunters and a deer behind every tree then. Now less than half and going downhill fast. Good job, college boys.😥

This is the most real quail hunting video I've seen. It does a great job of capturing the challenges and the excitement of quail hunting in the west, which is both the most maddening and the most rewarding bird hunting you can find. The country is often spectacular, and not mentioned here, but the eating is simply the best. Let's go.

I tell my wife EVERY CENT I spend on hunting so when I walk in with a nice rifle I got for cheap she's like "oooh, so thrifty" because she's been beat down by all the socks and dog training and gasoline.
