You know its practicality doomsday when the news team takes shelter while on the air.

Well, they have to stay safe too obviously. They only stay on for as long as they can, but they’re allowed to take cover when necessary. These are local news stations and they’re likely to be in danger too.

You can hear all hell is breaking loose outside. They did everything correct, especially at the end, where he repeated "get to shelter." It takes a lot of guts to hang in there and not freak out.

For real. I live in Alaska so this type of weather absolutely terrifies me when I'm visiting family in the lower 48. We are concerned sometimes when we get Thunder Storms! These scare me so bad. Even though this was 9 years ago, still praying. Tornadoes cause so much damage and cost hundreds of thousands, even millions to mend.

My family in California are terrified to visit. We had a particular bad year .. my 50 yo cousin was sweeping the patio as I pulled into home. Sirens blaring. She said she didn't know what to do as she cried with the broom. I said get grandma to basement. Then. " get your shoes on !" Poor girl.. crying and trying to be brave. We had 3 warnings that week. She said I'm ready to head west again! It just scared them to death!

@@loriehilton-reynolds9592 Ask your family how they feel about earthquakes or wildfires. Every area of the country has it's hazards. You just need to know what to do to keep yourself stafe.

@@KellyS_77 lol.. interesting.. we had pretty good earthquakes here and I actually was trapped by a history making wildfire in Oregon and northern California! You are 100 percent correct. Safety number 1 key. But give my pick!!! I'll take the tornagoes.tornadoes.. lol.. there's a way to get safe. Fire and earthquakes much harder to plan for

A month ago a tornado went directly over the tornado shelter we were in, and moved the nearby house from its platform entirely and close to the shelter. The sound near the end of this video where the wind was louder and louder is *exactly* what we heard, and the tornado went directly- not nearby- *directly* over our shelter. Trust your ears and your gut when it tells you to get down.

Not showing panic is one thing. They beyond held composure while presenting how the storm was so imminent. When a tornado is on top of your building. You go downstairs

@@topsam2256 Yes I agree they didn't actually panic I was terrified that night I thought the big one was coming..but u can hear the urgency in their voices.

They should be allowed to panic because it proves the seriousness to all those “it’s not gonna happen to me” types of people out there that don’t take these seriously, even though it’s on them if they fail to react.
@pugachevskobra5636 Жыл бұрын
Yes, exactly. I learned a long time ago not to take any chances due to living in one of the top 3 most tornado/ tornado fatality prone areas in the country but a lot of people don’t share that outlook but they may be more inclined to take precautions if watches and warnings are issued with the proper seriousness they deserve.
@Neotheaterr Жыл бұрын
@@TheWaynelds I agree with the “it’s not going to happen to me” part. People think they’re invincible and they’re not. But if they panic, they can’t think straight. It puts me at ease when others are also at ease.
