The docking is the only reason I could never do this.
@rudymakina55028 жыл бұрын
you need to learn with mechjeb,you can see a tutorial for mechjeb and repeat the autodocking option again and again. And you learn how to docking. I learn with this method. Excuse me for my english :D
@MrHws5mp8 жыл бұрын
I learnt docking from Scott Manley's videos: he doesn't use Mechjeb or docking mode. You can't do it by seat-of-the-pants flying: you need to think every move thorugh and then do it very precisely. It also helps to be patient: going the right way ata crawl is better than going the wrong way at a sprint.
@MattLowne8 жыл бұрын
I've never used Mech Jeb. Just practice and you'll get there!

omg who cares about the flag, I think this will be the last video I use the UK flag because I'm fed up of Americans whinging about it in the comments. After receiving LITERAL DEATH THREATS from my space shuttle video having a British flag in it it's just not even worth the hassle.

Nice video! Just something to say : Apollo didn't do transfer from LEO to Moon low orbit (TLI) with the service module engine, it did it directly with the upper stage's engine, before separation and docking with lunar module. Beyond this, you're pretty accurate !
@phraggers2 жыл бұрын
2:40 it was killing me I couldn't for the life of me remember the name of this tune. Anyone else wondering it's Fanfare for the common man by Copland written 1942 (but I believe the version matt used here is the emerson lake and palmer version)

Haha brilliant video as always! I so thought you were going to collide with that other stage on re-entry! Haha maybe aim Anti/Normal when jettisoning?!!

3:52 Is why when we decouple, we do it perpendicular to the pro-grade vector. So that it goes off sideways. (Also heyy, this is the video he got comments on for using a British flag on an Apollo mission!)
@laifgarrett53167 жыл бұрын
That was incredible! I just did this myself on the console enhanced version. Minus the rover and getting back, I just can't seem to get low enough in orbit with the command module/service module in order to conserve the fuel I need for the return.

For the first stage you could place a vector engine on the bottom of a kerbodine tank and ad four ncs adaptors around put two fuel lines on each going both direction,add a mk0 nose cone and four more vector engines on the bottom and then you can use the offset to put it all in,then add the wings on the side of the ncs adapters and your done!looks more like a Saturn V and has ALOT more thrust,I think I remember counting a good 5000 kilonewtons of force

On our mun missions we just put a lander and kerbals in for weight, and also because kerbals don't eat or sleep, or breath. The suits are only for pumping in snacks, though we did rescue them, our last misison was the only onw with return craft

Apollo's TLI was performed using the SIV-B stage, not with the CSM propulsion. Only after the SIV-B TLI burn did they do transposition and docking. Not before. There's also the solar panel issue but whatever, that's just minor.
