Doing a Duna SSTO would be fun. For me personally, because landing a spaceplane on Duna is such a pain in the ass, what I liked to do for a fully recovered Duna mission is to use a Mk. 3 hull and just put a lander in the back.

Old is when the sun was just a sprite, the RCS units were tall black cylinders and if you landed on the dark side of Kerbin you usually blew up.

You can do this exploit by simply editing your craft file too; you don't need the DLC. Also you can use Find and Replace to autostrut all your parts too.

Honestly, I don't use this cheat/exploit on the ships themselves, but I'll build orbital fuel depots by the gas giants (using outer planets mod) and I'll use this exploit on drones to refill the hydrogen fuel tanks on the depot with the fiction being the automated depot sends out drones that skim the hydrogen atmosphere, then bring it back to be processed into all of the other fuel types. Then as I send ships on by, they dock, transfer the needed fuel types onto their ships, and head off to continue doing what they're doing. It creates a few interesting mission sets, getting all of the tanks, drones, and fuel processors there, sending out a bunch of engineers to assemble the platform so it looks like an actual orbital platform with "landing" zones to dock to, and not some janky slapped together modules, have them "send the drones out to collect the hydrogen" and get the fuel processing once it's all built to refuel their own ship to get home and report a success. They also work as a communications hub with some habitation space in case the Kerbals want to hang out for a few days and move around instead of being stuck i their space craft.

Not sure if you did that before. But one SSTO i always tried to make (and kinda failed) Is one with Ore processing and drills, just to refuel and possibly refuel other ships. Would be neat to see either...a very Light economic version of one OR a very heavy big fuel tanker, i personally am just too impatience to make it work neatly.

Dude I hated the Juno rebrand too, it felt like they were just trying to generate some sort of news to get ahead of KSP2... but then KSP2 bombed so they didn't need to do it after all, and now people that knew it as Simple Rockets for years are probably super confused where the sequel went lol. Not to mention though, there's just nothing to do, you just land an astronaut, there's no experiments, no mining, not really any easter eggs, etc

I thought you were going to use ISRU or a solar sail or something. You could just turn on infinite fuel, assuming KSP still has that setting.

honestly, while i could use this exploit, I personally like making my "self-refueling" missions just include fuel refineries, scanning equipment, and mining equipment. more weight but i like the realism, and for my big long-term missions that are assembled in orbit anyway, i can just put a detachable lander (rated for landing on tylo) with mining and resource storage stuff, send an engineer down with it using remote pilot assist from the mothership, and bring it back up once it's nice and full. depending on the fuel source i may not even need that, ion drives and far future tech fusion drives can easily be refueled with a little atmosphere scooper drone designed to dip into the uppermost layer of the nearest gas giant.
