Great story line, and even better voice acting.

As a long time roleplayer (thought not roleplaying in video), I have to say this introduction was rather well done and left me curious about the future to come in this series of videos. I don't recall you doing quite this much roleplay in regards to the characters in your videos, Sometimes you do have the occasional bits of personal roleplay but not quite this deep if I can recall correctly. This is a new step in a new direction, and I think giving character to your kerbals is an interesting way to present new content. I will say myself that I wish there was _far more_ roleplay between other players of this game. But that is a personal quirk of mine, I like roleplay so.. Yeah. If you can do this and do it well - (This video suggests you have something good going on!) I fully support this and want to watch this series take off like an adventure to the stars! (In however many words I confuse the idea for delivering this...) -_I'll Be Watching._

As a first experiment and learning experience, making this cutscene was easier than I anticipated, and very satisfying. I want to do more! Designing and flying spaceships will remain the majority of the content, but I'm planning on adding a few minutes of dialogue here and there.

Have you seen Bob Fitch's Project Gateway/Odessey series' or EnterElysium's World War K? They're both rather good RP/story based series'.
@Sayoko-Von-Silve10 жыл бұрын
TheWinterOwl Sounds great! dasb76 I have seen EE's WWK, unfortunately it has not seen progress in some time, I'm still waiting to see more of that from him. Otherwise I do enjoy his channel much in the meantime. Never heard of Bob Fitch though. Thanks for pointing it out.

dasb76 I'm several months behind on Project Odyssey and gradually catching up. Great stuff! Bob Fitch is the best KSP KZbinr I've seen. This video's narrative style is a direct result of watching him. Sincerest form of flattery. Honestly haven't looked at the World War series, since I'm philosophically opposed to the militarization of KSP. Nothing against people who enjoy playing with guns and bombs in our silly vehicle sandbox; it's just not my thing.

When Bill said he was leaving (I didn't read the description) I thought it was a fancy way to say that You are leaving. Glad to see I was wrong. Still, pretty convincing work. Good job

I have to say, that was some very good voice-acting, usually youtubers are awful at acting.

Dude! My name is Matt too! And I'm a pilot too! I've only got 130 hours, though, I'm not at the point of making a career of it yet. Awesome to see other Matts who fly, dude

Is there anything I need to know about your early episodes not in this cut scene? I only started watching when you where doing your grunt vehicles (crashing them mostly) in early 2013.

Not really. I intend things to make sense for people who start in chapter 3. Chapter one was all about Bill,Jeb, and Bob going to the Mun for the first time. In this timeline, about fifty or sixty years ago. In chapter two, they encountered a black monolith that taught Jebediah a very important message. Jeb immediately crashed his airplane, and the message was lost. KSC sent a couple of Kerbals to the mun to find another monolith. (In real life I fell badly apart at this time and ceased writing the story. When I returned to KSP, I pursued other projects.) So in the current timeline of the KSP:Rescaled series, those failed Mun missions were twenty or thirty years ago, and nobody has been back to the Mun or Minmus since. And of course Jeb died in the Spork 10 crash a few weeks ago. But I'll make sure it makes sense without watching all of that really early stuff.

TheWinterOwl But then some of us will go back an re-watch that old stuff because it was good. In fact, I think I'm going to go back to chapter 1 back in 0.13 just for the nostalgia of it all.

Will this intersect with the open cockpit universe? Will we find out what Kender had been upto?
@TheWinterOwl10 жыл бұрын
No. I consider the open cockpit storyline a separate continuity, and complete. One of the few series I've done with a definite ending, so I'm not interested in returning to it.

no no jeb built the space program
@TheWinterOwl10 жыл бұрын
Jebediah was the first test pilot and charismatic face of the space agency. The agency got a lot of support in early days because so many people loved Jeb; little Kerbals still want to grow up to be just like him. When the agency grew, Jeb took the role of lead test pilot, chief flight instructor, and still the public spokesman. Bill and Bob weren't ever as visible as Jeb, but their decisions shaped the agency and indeed the entire direction of Kerbal space exploration. Bill was head of technological research and development, deciding what missions needed to go where, with what hardware. Bob found his purpose as chief administrator; he manages employees, schedules launches, makes deals with industry subcontractors, and keeps politicians happy.
