fair warning, That ring is going to fall off the second you go to the space center or timewarp. Leaving the physics frame of the station puts the station on rails. Since the ring and station are treated as 2 different objects, they’ll be put on 2 different rails. Thanks to slightly different orbits, they drift away from each other. This is something I learned the hard way when I built mine. If you want to keep your station intact when you leave it or timewarp it, you need a method of redocking the ring to the station using either docking ports or a grappler arm. Also, if you’re interested to know how much gravity it produces, you can get some idea by sticking an accelerometer to the outer hull, and seeing what it reads.

Agreed. Everytime I want my station to spin, I leave the ring connected via decoupler, quick save, disassemble and spin, then reload quick save to prevent this from happening. However, you can't leave the ring unattached.

Rule of thumb: Rotation speed just below 2rpm are suggested for habitat rings so that they do not turn into vomit holding areas withing minutes. Also at that rotation speed you need a diameter of ~300 meters for moon like grav and ~500 meters for marslike grav.

When I made a non-stock version of an MCRN Corvette from The Expanse. (with a hollow interior) I got the ship at a perfect 1g thrust to simulate gravity, but Jeb would go limp every time he got out of his seat. I think the only real way of enjoying simulated gravity is to be able to drive a land craft around on the accelerating surface.

Attach an extendable airlock module to one of the arms of the ring, then another port the the main section of the station. That way, you can dock the two together and the station will survive timewarp

There is a way of transferring kerbals without EVA, all you need to do is to attach one of those extendable docking ports to one of the spokes of the ring , then add one to the actual station facing it, so whem you want to transfer all you need to do is allign the docking ports and extend them to dock then transfer the kerbals

You have essentially defeated the whole purpose of having a space station ring spinning by rotating the middle. The idea is to have a massive circular outer core which spins around its central axis using stability thrusters and then the spinning itself created a centripetal force which generates its own pseudo gravity within. Note it’s been done before, 40 years or so.

I see plenty of people in the comments saying that you need a way to reattach the ring and station otherwise the very slightly different orbits will cause them to separate when you reload a quicksave or visit the spsce center. And I may or may not see a somewhat obvious (to me) way to go about doing that. I'll need to try it before I can say if it works. If it does, I think I'll use it as an interplanetary ship. Maybe push it to leave the solar system.

kerbal really needs rtx. since spaceships are customizable and essentially always changing, you cant really have prerendered scenes for them, so RTX would be great in KSP 2

So I finally got RTGs in my career mode game, reasoning that if I learn how to make stock propeller planes, I can send them to Duna or Eve and get more science to unlock the mega fuel tanks or the super sized ore tank and scanner or the ion probe body. What's the point of science points after you complete the tech tree? Seeing if you can max out the counter? So I built the space station rotor in my career mode save and couldn't get it to reliably stay together after separation. Not even unloading it from physics range. Just separating it and having it stay together.

Space Kraken spawner: Go 450 times the speed of light. just edit the cheapest least Powerfull enigine so it has over 999999999 HP. You would only need 1% of its total power to gain 450x the speed of light. 1 mistake and your save is RUINED

That this could be done without the DLCs is good for me, because I don't have them yet. I do intend to get them, when I can get myself a new computer. No sense getting the DLCs for a game on a dead computer that regardless couldn't run said game. Literally, my computer is like a potato. Almost nothing runs on it, and those few things that do still only go at a few, painful fps. That is if my computer didn't just give up and die itself. I wouldn't fault it.
