Awesome video! I can't believe I am still finding new KSP content creators. How excited is everyone for KSP2? How does JNSQ compare to RSS, RO, RP-1, RSS really breathed new life in to the game for me but I do find myself missing a few small things from stock. Mainly parts like robotics.
@cxg28272 жыл бұрын
I really enjoy JNSQ as the solar system scale seems more balanced to the stock parts. rockets look more realistic in proportion and adds a bit of extra challenge to going places. I havent tried RSS yet but after I finish JNSQ I want to go into RSS/RO. I am considering another video series but will include voiceovers in lieu of text on the screen
@jgus66 ай бұрын
If you do end up trying out RSS I would recommend using Less Real Than Realism, as it re-scales and tweaks the stock parts to fit the real solar system, which I like a lot better than RO/RP1, as it’s much more intuitive to use and you don’t need to mess around with all the procedural parts and hyper-realism.

Unfortunately with several mods having "All rights reserved" licensing it is not allowed to redistribute in this manner. I will say that all the mods work well with one another. The only manual CFG tweaks I did were adding decoupler staging to some of the docking ports included with "Near Future Construction". Probes before Crew I removed content so it was only the science point modifiers and tech tree that remained.

AWESOME videos man... Question though: What version of KSP are you running here? I have v1.12.5 installed w/JNSQ, Environmental Visual Enhancements as well but EVE doesn't look like this at ALL. It's VERY dark, even in direct sunlight, there's no atmospheric effects like it shows here. Did the Eve ascent vehicle only have a single engine? And what did the final stage use to rendezvous with tha transfer stage, just rcs thrusters?
@cxg28272 жыл бұрын
Correct, it was the nuclear aerospike running off liquid hydrogen. I put myself into a sliglt elliptical orbit with ~ 50m/s delta-v and waited a few orbits until the rendezvous. The final stage had about 150m/s Delta V with the monopropellant.

Real designs do feel a bit overpowered when you take them to JNSQ; I had an Apollo-style Minmus landing assembly but after the first mission I figured out I could have swapped the ENTIRE service module with a station segment and still having a valid Minmus landing-and-return
@cxg28272 жыл бұрын
@@luodaniel8576 Minmus is super easy, I think a 3-kerbal capsule with a baguette fuel tank is enough to do the mission, even in JNSQ. I'm looking forward to trying RSS/RO after I finish with this system. Though I'm considering a stock grand tour with the new scatter first for a change in pace, something a bit easier.
@luodaniel85762 жыл бұрын
@@cxg2827 The thing in RSS/RO is, at least for me, that you're always tempted to use historical parts. Not to say it's bad though, but I feel like attempting an Apollo replica less original than doing stuff in Stock/JNSQ. In fact I understand the stock grand tour being harder than an RSS/RO Lunar landing :p

that eve lander uses the deliverance aerospike right? how did that manage to lift all that LH2 up to orbit? even with 1000kN of thrust that's a lot to put to orbit!
@cxg2827 Жыл бұрын
With the asparagus staging of the radial tanks, it was able to keep the craft size a bit more manageable, but the lander with the methalox Eve capture stage needed a 175 ton rated heavy lifter. Then again, that same lifter was needed for just the Kerbin departure stage. This was much smaller than my original LFO design, which was 284 tons for the lander alone
