Thanks for the "correction" - at the exact second you linked you can see I disabled the decoupler action of that piece, because it was only used as a spacer part to more realistically emulate the Vostok shape, and that if you'd continued watching the video you can see that I used the capsule's in-built decoupler to separate the craft prior to re-entry. Smh

Hey Matt, I’ve found out that the Woomerang Launch Site is actually supposed to be Baikanoir, because of the geographical location for both of them, since they are so far up north on their respective planets.

I believe that for Soyuz family of rockets upper stage lights before decoupling. This is why they have interstage that allows exhaust to escape.

You didn’t hot stage matt. You’re supposed to fire the RD-0105 upper stage before the main RD-108 core cuts out for ullage reasons (that is, air bubbles in the tank. if the fuel is allowed to float around, then you get air in the engine feedlines and bad things happen. This is why the lattice structure exists: so that the engine exhaust has somewhere to go when the upper stage engine is fired early. You can also get ullage with RCS or solid ullage motors, but the Soviets went “screw it” and just fired the upper stage early.

By the way, Voskhod is pronounced “vos hod”. Vostok is correct, but with both of them, the first “o” sounds like an “ah” and the second “o” sounds like the word “oh”!

At Vostok, the airlock bulged out a little from the fairing, but the fairing was not enlarged but left as it is. And you did it wrong. The fairing turned out to be like Soyuz 2.1b
