THE CHANNEL:
This channel is about Kerbal Space Program and can consist of SSTO building tutorials and rocket building tutorials. Some times the videos contain bad language and adult humor but on a low level. In these videos no planet is safe as we can explore space together by landing on places like Duna and Jool and build large Duna colonies or orbital space stations. Also, Interplanetary SSTO builds seem to be a hot topic in the KSP community so I will be touching on those as well. I also build SSRT space craft. These are fun to build and easy to fly! Warships or space warships are one of my favorite things to make. Stock weapons can be very challenging and so when building them over time , you get to see the evolution of the designs. Same thing with the Warships. They get better and better with each new design.
Now , I know it's considered cheating but Kraken drives are a fun way to put things like warp drive ( like in Star Trek ) and or hyper drives ( like in Star Wars ) in your Kerbal space program game. These game mechanic loopholes are fun to figure out as you find out how they work and how to incorporate them into your star ship design.
Everything from Outposts on far away moons and Mining Stations around asteroids and comets, you name it I've ether built it or it's on my to do list! I still haven't really explored things like building SpaceX starship or any of the NASA spacecraft, and I think that's because it been done to many times. Recreations of spacecraft can be found almost everywhere on KZbin now and so making yet another one seem redundant. Only if the spacecraft recreation is of one that I loved as a kid will I even attempt to build it. Like the Apollo Moon Lander, or the whole Apollo rocket! Now that rocket was cool!
Many people have ask me if I'm ever going to wear my Mandalorian helmet ever again for my videos. And , yes. when the time is right, and I get a new wabcam, I will be dawning the helmet once more!

I have another idea for you, Vaos. How about for maneuvering in atmosphere for the cruiser - put in some more SAS stabilization. A couple extra gyro units in both the saucer - facing up/down - and the secondary hull - pointing fore/aft. In order to simply brute force the ship into stability. If that seems too "cheaty" - then have them turned off most of the time. And when you turn them on, they draw enough power that they start to drain the batteries - and in order to replenish THAT - you turn on some fuel cells (auxiliary power!) to keep the batteries charged - and THAT starts draining fuel from the whole slowly that the Kraken Warp Cores can't keep up with. So yes - the cruiser can come down into atmosphere - and it's not immediately fatal - but eventually WILL BE if you stay down too long!

I note that you have wing surfaces on the side of the shuttle. Obviously they have to be held close to the hull to fit in the hanger - but I wonder - could you use Robotics of any kind to rotate those into position for proper lift in atmosphere? Even possibly rotating the entire fuel/intake pod structure? And for the algorithm gods - KSP Kerbal Space Program KSP Ship

He tried that a while back when designing the shuttle. Too unstable and the robotic parts were too big to fit in that compact space. Also deltaV and aerodynamic issues were involved and it couldn't make it to space. He couldn't make it work. He went with the simpler design and it worked better.

I’ve seen Vaos do that before. And I would not be surprised if this ship actually HAS lights there already! But that we haven’t seen them yet because we didn’t see Vaos activate the Kraken drives in those Nacelles yet!

Hello. On a rainy cloudy day where I am this video definitely made it brighter. It's a really cool concept. It looks and behaves beautifully with a lot of tweaking. The one thing I don't really understand is why the usual placements for the warp engines in star trek all you have are fuel tanks, with out them being utilised for anything else. I understand that you want to create you own story so I am happy with whatever you choose to do. I know the centre of thrust and centre of mass wouldn't really work the the engines being so high up in the usual place but it would be cool if they were the main power source. Other than going on my small rant amazing video and concept along side it. Keep up the great work

i thought of that and tried going full non-kraken at first but there wasn’t enough fuel to leave kerbin. Controlling the COM is easy but ultimately this is just a prop lol. 😆

@@vaos3712 yeah I get it, and fair enough. You can still use a kraken device where the props are which would be more in line with the star trek design but it is still really cool tech. Cool props, I really like that 😄. I can definitely see a wide variety of vessels being born from your ship. The one thing I would love to see which I don't know if it is possible in star trek the upper hall or in other words the disk, was designed to be detachable. It would be cool to see this concept in your world, for emergency use or even just bringing the whole crew safely back to kerbin through this method since theoretically even in the game should be aerodynamically sound. That's a nice little ship you've got here... I might try to replicate it someday. Do you have any craft file to share? KSP being what it is, replicating a ST ship accurately is utterly useless except if you use mods or go into heavy detail. I like how you adapted with a simpler build the style of ship to what the game is. In a way your impossibility to land on an atmospheric planet with the ship because of the saucer section causing CoL being in front of the CoM tells us everything we need to know. Older Trek canon of the ships being constructed on the surface and lifted up to Orbit always was utterly ridiculous to me. And if a saucer was to land, it should separate from the Engine section to keep an stable aerodynamic profile. VOY Intrepid class uses shield configuration trickery to be able to maintain the ship flight worthy in atmosphere. I guess since you can ionize your surfaces to rise or lower your drag coefficient, the shields can indeed be used to modify the ship's aerodynamic profile to make the front section less draggy and rise the drag on the aft to keep the ship in stable flight... What allows you to take off is the sheer propulsion force outtaking the aerodynamic forces. Lowne Lazy Method of Docking only works when both ships have a frontal docking port aligned with their centers of mass and thrust.

Hi Vaos, about the engines of the ship. Even when i do it with the smallest engines and the center of mass is perfectly aligned, if I make the throttle on 100% my ship either turns to the left or right side but just doesnt stay still. Is there any fix for that?
