KST Kustoms Mayhem Bagger Handlebar Install On A Harley Davidson. It's winter and time for another install. In this video I will be ditching the stock handlebars for some KST Kustoms 10" Mayhem Bagger Handlerbars. It's been a long time coming but now they are finally installed. I'll take you through the steps I took to get all the wiring out of the stock bars and into the new ones. This is a lengthy video but it is also a lengthy process to make sure it is done right. #handlebars

Absolutely love my Milwaukee M12 ratchet. Shimmying the lever to not snap off the tab on the clutch and brake levers is really an annoying design. Its snapped on me a few times over the years. I'm seriously thing of installing the nostalgic heated grips on the revival. (commenting as I'm watching) I know how many hours it took to do this task and this video is gold for someone wanting to tray and save some serious coin. Out freak'n standing video Randy. Eric

As I am fighting the idea of changing the looks of my RKS I sat on a heritage-after the Harley Faster Further event at my local dealer- with I believe 14’ bars and loved how they felt on my broken by Uncle Sam back lol. Question is did you get longer lines or not? Thank great share bud!
@SinisterClutch
@SinisterClutch 2 жыл бұрын
No you won’t need longer clutch and brake cables unless you go above 12”. I just removed the zip ties to get slack in the cables. Also the clutch cable is pushed to the right of the bike so I moved it to the left and had plenty of length.

I think 4 hours is sufficient. It took me longer because I filmed it. Just lay everything you need out and it will go faster. Hi I loved the video. Was just wondering how tall you were? I'm about 5foot 7inches tall and was looking to change out my bars and I got told to go with 12in kst but think they are to tall for me. Also how do you like th 10in bars? Are they comfortable on long rides?
@SinisterClutch
@SinisterClutch Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and commenting. I’m 5’10” and love the handlebars. Since installing them I’ve put over 10K miles on the bike and they are very comfortable. I feel more relaxed on long rides and wished I’d installed them sooner. I thought about 12” handlebars but I ride in cold weather and wanted to keep my hands behind the fairing as much as possible. If I remember correctly they are more like 10 3/4”. Hope this helps 🤙

@@SinisterClutch hey brother. Your video is the only one I have seen that leads me to believe this. I have been struggling to get the wires to stay inside of the housing. Any chance you could send me a pic of how they rout out of the housing. I’d really appreciate it
@SinisterClutch
@SinisterClutch Жыл бұрын
@@joehengels5409 Let me explain this in detail. So by factory the Switch Housing for the turn signals wiring harness is on the outside of the bars as you can see at 8:20 in the video on the left and 10:00 on the right. At 19:25 I start to show that I'm installing the right switch housing inside the new KST Bars by taping it to the paracord attached to the braided steel wire.

Again, great video. Got the bars on and controls mounted. I noticed the heated grips are the same as the ones I bought. Can I ask how you wired them in? Thanks again for your help
@SinisterClutch
@SinisterClutch Жыл бұрын
@@joehengels5409 So the heated grips came with a 10” extension wire for the left side that you definitely need. The right side already has the wire ran from factory which is part of the throttle by wire. For my particular heated grips I had to connect a wire harness to the battery so I took the tank off and ran the wire alone the frame. Also I’m a fan of soldering so that was my choice of how to connect the wires. Sorry I don’t have a video on that because I wasn’t on KZbin when I originally installed them. Hope this helps
