Thanks! but "seek care if pain lasts more than 12 hours"? Who heals from a jammed finger in half a day? wolverine? lol When I get mine from bball, they last about a week. I m hoping KT tape, rest and massages will help reduce it a day or two this time.

Great video. This may be a stupid question. Is tape necessary if the finger jam is not too painful. For instance, if there's a little swelling and stiffness, but the pain is bearable. Can one do without the tape and let it heal naturally? Thanks!

If you are talking about your catching hand, usually the common thumb injury is hyper extension. Like when you get "thumbed" from a foul tip. I am a kt therapist and also a catcher. The best thing I have found for thumb protection is the "Catchers Thumb" from Xan Barksdale. It's a brace you wear under the glove and it is amazing! Check out catching 101.
