Plasma ticks for less because it lasts longer. Since the duration is longer the damage is split up into smaller parts, each tick is smaller but since the plasma is 4s longer the overall damage is higher from the increased duration.

This. They increased the duration a larger percentage then they increased the damage so the damage per tick goes down. Math for the win: 6287.4 over 6 seconds (12 ticks) = 523.95 per tick 8982 over 10 seconds (20 ticks) = 449.1 per tick If it expired, it would be more damage total but since goal is to refresh it and keep it always active, it is actually a damage nerf. Still Id rather less damage but actually be able to keep it up during a fight rather losing it all the time.

He was very much a ramp up champ that could solo a ton of abyss fights so on many ways he was underated. Yet to watch this video but I’m hoping he gets a solid buff that makes him more useful for everyday content that doesn’t completely compromise what he excelled at.

I’ve always enjoyed IMIW, I wish they would give him some type of Power gain. That would help a ton. On top of the plasma damage change I wish he could refresh plasma on block like Incinerate can be. That would make him so great to play.

How i would have gone about buffing imiw 1. Sp1 drops 2 shocks instead of 1 2. Repulsor strikes have a 30% chance to apply incinerate 3. Imiw can now also refresh plasma and incinerate into block 4. Plasma and incinerate duration increased by 3 seconds

Like the other guy said, the plasma does less damage not because they screwed with the heavy but because with the increase in duration the damage is split in smaller parts. This is still a damage nerf, since refreshing the plasma doesn’t let you “use” all the damage it should do with it he full duration. What a joke

Hey, if it means we have a couple of good champs by the end of the year that wouldn’t have otherwise been then how is that not better than no buffs at all? Even if it’s just making a champ a slightly tougher defender or something, it’s still a net positive contribution to the game overall. No meaningful changes + Juggernaut is better than no meaningful changes period.

I said they should just change his sa to include “when he has a plasma on the opponent” so he gets power gain and auto block when he has a plasma on them. It wouldn’t make him a harder defender and at least after you do the initial ramp to get a plasma on them he would build a lot faster after. It would almost be like mr fantastics ramp i feel like.

His plasma damage isn’t bugged. Because the plasma last longer the potency increase mean that it does less damage per second but more damage overall. The issue is that you never wanna let the plasma expire so the duration increase is actually a bad thing for damage

How hard would it be for them to put it in his kit to where once he has 2 armor breaks, inflicting a 3rd armor break inflicts an armor shatter which can be refreshed by throwing a heavy. Couple that with his plasma damage and he’d be a much more satisfying character to play

When the duration of plasma increased by 66%, the damage would also have to increase by 66% to maintain the value of damage ticks. Since the damage only increased by 42%, the tick value is lower but over the duration the total damage will be more.

He has solid utilities like heal block, armor break, psuedo power control... but man his armor up duration is so short and chance to proc is very small so you never can realistically use his bleed/coldsnap immunity or auto block on attack. Also he still is a pilow hand character? I hope thats a bug

Look at the duration vs. damage. If duration goes up by about 40%, damage should also go up by 40% to have a higher damage per second.

If the duration is longer, each damage tick is lower. In the end, for instance: 1000 damage for 10 seconds Vs 1200 for 15 seconds can give you the impression the second is dealing less damage.

The thing is that these plasmas aren’t supposed to expire. You’re supposed to keep them up for the whole fight. So in the end, it is less damage.

I heard from DLL someone suggested this ‘buff’ because they love the character. So they were going to work on it. Odd if so this would be the result. Let’s hope it’s a bug. At 8 mins in listen to KT. This is likely a bug on the beta for damage. Should be fixed. Seems like it will then be a decent buff. Let’s hope…..

It doesn't make sense that he doesn't have Incinerate and Shock immunities. Also he should have increased chance to get armour. It's too low. This is a failed buff in my opinion. He should be made on par with Captain America infinity war, just with tech based abilities.

You can get the higher plasma damage by chaining the heavy attack into a sp3. It just has to be right when your first heavy hit connects
