When I used to get up in the morning and go to a job that I disliked so much and I was depressed, I would get up in the morning and watch KTLA. It brought me joy and a distraction from what I was dealing with. Most notably, I loved to watch Sam Rubin because he was always smiling and brought the entertainment news with such joy and interest. He will be greatly missed by all, especially those whose lives he touched in such a special way. RIP Sam. If there's a heaven, you are it's shining star.

I’m from San Diego and fox 5 morning news would show Sam’s entertainment segment. I’m not really into all the celebrities stuff but I would watch because he would just have a conversation with the news anchors and it was just really fun to watch. We will miss you Sam.

Please join me in saying a prayer for Sam's family, and his friends and colleagues I'm saying an extra prayer for Mr. Buckley, who I can tell is taking Sam's passing extra hard. 🙏 Jesus be with them, Amen.

When Sam smiled, you couldn't help but smile back. His laugh was infectious. His love for his families was his genuine and all-consuming. He touched so many lives, gave of himself to help others. A true humanitarian. We will miss that smile. Our prayers go put to his families. May they find comfort knowing Sam now sits at the right hand of God.

My heart breaks for Sam Rubin's wife, Leslie, their 4 kids, and the KTLA family! They have been in my household for 25+ years and as much as it hurts me, I can't imagine what they are feeling! RIP Mr. Sam Rubin 😥🙏❤

My body froze for a minute when I heard the news. It’s heartbreaking because he made us laugh in the morning. My mom and I have been watching have been watching KTLA more than a decade and this news is heartbreaking. R.I.P. Sam. 💔

This is difficult for me, a viewer. He brightened my day when my business was faltering, when the day was tough, and then, when things got better. I am now retired and Sam has gone home. Happy Trails Sam! We will all miss you! Thank you for making our trails brighter! May God bless his family and grant them peace…..🕊️

I am not interested in entertainment news, but Sam was so good at what he did that he kept me from changing the channel during his segments. He was obviously loved by people in his orbit, and that love is the best legacy he could have left behind.
