Spectators ready for 2024 Rose Parade

I camped out for the Rose Parade when I was young (about 35 years ago) and it was a bloody nightmare. After a night of partying, we slept on cots. When I awoke, the boulevard was packed with people. I had to go to the bathroom. The porta-potties were literally overflowing by the morning. All of the parking lots were blocked off from trespassers. There was absolutely nowhere to go to the bathroom. Not that I was near any condominiums or apartments, but they too were fenced off due to the insane lack of porta-potties. People would relieve themselves anywhere they could. At the time, I lived about 10 minutes from Pasadena, and later lived about 5 minutes from Colorado Boulevard (the street the Rose Parade is on) for years - I have never since even desired to to to the Rose Parade. I'd rather peel off my fingernails. If you live in the area, you buy enough groceries to last 3 or 4 days, and avoid the blocked off and congested streets until all remnants of the parade are dismantled. TV is the best place to watch the parade.

My god I PRAY that they keep this TREASURE of a parade "traditional" and not RUIN it by turning it into a horror show of "hip hop artists" and "rappers" that most people have never even heard of and don't care to. What a SHAME that would be.

RALLY THE QUEEN 1/1/24 How did it happen you came to be afraid of being the queen of the Rose Bowl parade? Who convinced you that's too much love to bear, my fair lady, my poor lady fair? Someone needs to do it, somebody's required, to keep these flower blossoms and little girls inspired--that it's all going to happen again next year. My Fair Lady, it's your hour to appear.
