Knowing how bright line steamrolled their Orlando to Miami line.. I betcha it’ll be done before the 2028 finish date
@Atyomommahouse-p2m8 ай бұрын
That was mostly there in Orlando. A lot of shared lines. Not the big infrastructure or electrical that’s needed like here. They are about to learn. Building in California at a very high worker cost is about to go way over budget and past the Olympics. Don’t forget state of California also requires 18 months of testing on the new line before passengers.

It would have been much nicer had the train terminated in DTLA rather than Rancho. And gone to San Diego too!
@Jack-ke5uv2 ай бұрын
It did at one time. I remember back in 1964 Union Pacific ran its bright modern yellow trains between Los Angeles Union Station and Las Vegas. Las Vegas had a brightly lit rail station just like the casinos. Union Pacific ran four daily passenger trains in each direction between Los Angeles Union Station and Las Vegas and continued up to Salt Lake City and points East. I believe one of the cars was transferred to the San Diego train from LA. The Union Pacific passenger trains had an exquisite dining car, lounge, sleeping compartments as well as wide coach seats. By 1971 Union Pacific gave up all their passenger trains as the public decided they preferred to drive the interstate or fly the new jets.

Why does tax payer dollars have to be used for a private industry project like Brightline? They stand to make billions on the merits of this project alone. Texas tolllroads and highspeed rail projects were all funded by the private companies that aim to make a profit. We need to stop all these govt handout projects for corporations at our cost. San Diego should be exempt from funding this, we just wasted 2 billion on a trolley extension to UCSD that hardly anyone uses. More cleaning ladies from TJ take it than the UCSD students and employees of the various hospitals and clinics it was built for. Biggest waste of taper money in SD history. Public transportation is a joke and only help undesirables get to nicer communities or a place for them to rest. Why didn't they mention the possible 400$ roundtrip ticket cost, about 1/2 of a monthly car payment.

A big lie they won't hit 200 MPH. Maybe in short bursts. The one in Florida from Miami to Orlando hits from 65 to 70 mph most of the way it does hit 125 for about 65 miles. And there are stops. A car has reported beating the train from Miami to Orlando lol. And flights are much faster and do not cost much more than the train. And the cost they first told us would be a lot cheaper than driving another big lie. It does not cost $125 in gas from Miami to Orlando. And you can do 70 to 80 mph in Florida. And flights are about the same cost. And if cost goes up to lay down the track which it always, does you could be looking at no savings at all taking the train.
