It’s by literal definition both lol Inflation: when things such as housing, gas, and more not just in-store prices that go up exceeding high and at a fairly fast pace all occur at once. - in which in this day we are seeing all those things collectively skyrocket in our economy. So yes, it is cost-push inflation and I could argue it is as well demand-pull inflation due to the insane craze of people junk buying things they see influencers promote or use. We see this with items such as drunk elephant, Stanley cups, etc where the demand was so high that in fact concerning the Stanley’s exceeded production capability. And obvious I don’t have to explain price gauging..

Completely false, most businesses work on fixed margins so higher profits would be expected. If the wholesale price doubles the profit is likely to double.

@@Bretware904no, you’re not able to comprehend so there’s no point in trying to explain but I’ll try. If it takes you 30 cents to make a cookie & sell for $1 & inflation happens meaning you now pay 60 cents to pay for the same thing so you raise it to $1.30 to make up for the difference = you wouldn’t be making a RECORD breaking profit - you should be making the EXACT same profit which means what? That they are paying 30 cents still for a cookie but charging us $1.30 - so the “inflation” isn’t real… you’re JUST charging us more for the same.

Nah in the Sacramento area it makes no sense to go to Walmart for anything. Most of the time the price difference is between 1-5 cents! Why would I wait 30 minutes to get a locked up pair of socks when I could go to target and grab it off the shelf for the same price. I will admit I would never buy any groceries from Target because they are outrageous, but I can’t say Walmart is any better when they scam customers with massive weight discrepancies. We have WinCo over here and the groceries are so much cheaper and better than any Walmart.

You also have to account for the fact that target will price match against most of the big retailers, so I recommend checking the prices on their apps and as you shop compare the prices, add to your online cart whatever item you find cheaper on another store and when you get to the checkout lane show it to the cashier and ask them to price match you. On top of that if you have one of the target red cards you get an extra %5 off, plus whatever sales they have going on. So it all can really add up if you shop smart

Walmart only started lowering prices here when Aldi's rolled into town and started undercutting then by a fairly large scale. Parmigiano imported from Italy used to cost $8 for 6oz at Walmart and then they stopped selling it for 3 years, they only put them back on the shelves when Aldi's moved in and it's just common practice for them to have it, it's $6 and Walmart letter their price to match it.

Inflation wise is better. But if corporate greed isn’t spoken about the economy as a whole will barely get by. 2020 was so horrible managed and price gouging on top that this whole decade is trying to fix that damage and damaged caused by corporate tax breakers and deregulation… And republicans are working so hard against Americans right now to force the economy to crash

Target doesn’t have the security system like Walmart. Their cameras are so good that it can see the text off my phone. 😂 Target should invest in their loss prevention and it will help.

Walmart prices are insane. If you really pay attention they’re not even that cheap anymore! They know a lot of people going there with EBT cards and just because they have the reputation of being cheap, dumb people don’t pay attention. Albertsons has even been cheaper on a lot of items with their app then Walmart.

A while back I bought a one pound box of Great Value linguine from Walmart. Still in the box it was 15.1 ounces. So less than 15 ounces of pasta after the box weight. Stopped buying it from them.

The regular grocery games that have been played for years. Keep prices a little lower on key items like milk, bread, meat, diapers, but keep other things inflated. Customers will think they are getting a deal when in fact all those other items are making up the difference.

We went yesterday, just see if the drops were worth it, and we left empty-handed. Didn't see any major price cuts at all. Their grocery is waaay higher than the premium grocers, laundry soap and cleaning products are still outrageous.

The last few times I’ve been to Target in Tampa/Clearwater it’s been completely empty. This was during Spring Break 24. Maybe there were some moms with strollers just getting out of the heat. I go so rarely and buy like two things, that I can’t find at Walmart etc. The prices are out of control ~ and it shows.
