Piggybacking on all the comments- along with grieving differently, isolation- there are maybe also issues that existed in their marriage prior to the loss of their son that added to the new stress. Remember no relationship is perfect so if there was possibly problems before, the death of their son worsened the tension.

I have some relatives who have had lots of heartache through their children and/or through their own parents, and I see the sorrow. My husband and I chose to have two children who are now in their mid and late 20s. (We are now in our early 60s as we were in our early 30s when they were born.) It hasn’t always been easy, but we did our best as parents, and we were blessed that our parents provided help as loving, supportive grandparents. We couldn’t be more proud of our two sons, but we do realize how blessed we are. I’ve learned over the years not to be judgmental toward people who can’t say the same, who had different circumstances-or toward people who have decided not to have children. My sister has one child, a daughter in her late 30s who has not only decided not to have children, but also not to get married. She has her reasons. My sister would have loved to be a grandmother like me, but she has accepted that she won’t. She’s supportive of her daughter though.

That's exactly how I feel, too. I lost my own son in June 2023; he was my only child and he lived with me his whole life. I'm totally alone and have no relatives and all my friends have passed, too. I was so sad to see Kevin's parents had divorced. They were both such attractive, intelligent people who raised this wonderful young man and I know how they feel. I pray that this case is solved and the individual responsible for Kevin's death is punished to the fullest extent of the law. RIP, angel boy!

Kevin looked like one of those children who come few and far between.- handsome, polite, intelligent, goal achiever, musical talent given by God..........he had it all. When his Mother told how she saved the napkin and plate and silverware from their last breakfast together; then later how she wiped her dear, dear son’s blood from the street, and used her own hands to clean up the glass, my heart was broken. Some may think it was strange - but it’s not. I found my husband dead in bed......and much as I loved him, I saved the part of the last cigarette he smoked, and anything else that I could, all are in a little box.....you don’t have your loved one, so you try to gather whatever they last touched.😢💕 I will be praying for both of you, Mother and Dad, aa well as “Auntie”. What a lovely family! It’s pitiful. But remember, II CORINTHIANS tells us that OUR GOD IS THE GOD OF ALL COMFORTS, (II Corinthians 1: 3-5 KJV) AND that HE TURNS ASHES INTO BEAUTY! (Isaiah 61: 1-3 KJV). “Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart! ♥️ Lean not on your own understanding! I am rewatching from years ago. I wish they would upload more recent cases. They keep saying he was a foot away from super stardom, but he had less than 500 followers. But it is obvious he was going somewhere, career wise. He seemed like a great guy who was a fantastic friend, and son. I hate senseless crime like this when the victim is innocent. Yes! Shame on her for doing that to her boys and the guilt her Mom is carrying for placing the 911 call. Her Mom did what was right. Shelia just needs to confess to everyone and then maybe she will accept she did it. Then maybe she will be remorseful and accountable for her actions. Sad that she’s willing to let her poor Mom feel guilty. She feels like she’s the one that did her in with that 3rd call.
