Excellent video! I am strongly considering an 1190 ADV (non R) and this video is definitely something I needed to see.

It's a great motorbike, we've ridden most of the adventure style bikes and this one is a standout when it comes to more performance oriented riding. Handles fantastically two up as well. The R was intended for more off road use but if most of the time your playground is bitumen you can't go wrong with the non R version. It does have the worst side stand in history I gotta say.

Damn nice roads! And the guy on the VFR really rode it smooth, it was a joy to watch. You on the KTM were not so bad, too. ;)

Wow!! Great vid and sweet skills. Love my KLR, but man what I wouldn't give for an 1190! That thing is a beast!! :)

Tutti ormai conoscono le qualita' del Ktm !!!!, sono rimasto invece sorpreso dal ritmo che teneva il VFR 1200 !!!! sicuramente una moto non capita dal pubblico delle 2 ruote

Hi Bike Stig, great bike,great roads , great everything.One quick question about the KTM 1190,how is the wind buffeting coming off the front screen?. Cheers....
@TheBikeStig10 жыл бұрын
We don't have any problems at all Russ, regardless of speed or conditions. Some taller guys said they experienced a small amount of buffeting but the screen can be raised to a higher position which they didn't do. The R model comes with an even smaller screen.

Nice video! What GPS mount is installed on your bike? Looks like the same that I have on my new GS. I'm planning to go to a KTM and move the Garmin GPS.
@TheBikeStig9 жыл бұрын
+Marcos França Thats the Garmin Zumo 660 mount, it fits the standard GS mount I believe.

Great videos!!! Have you tested the new super adventure 1290? it might be a better bike than but the new adv 1290 with that big tank and fairing looks too large and big. What do you think?
@TheBikeStig9 жыл бұрын
lloiaful No, we haven't even seen one up our way yet. I believe the 1290 Super Adventure isn't quite as hot for the rider as the 1190 Adventure. Even though I haven't ridden it, I am more than happy with the 1190 version as it has plenty of horsepower, carry a huge load, and is a bit more versatile in terms of range and off road riding.

The Bike Stig you are right!! good enough!!

I assume that was a VFR1200F (sounded like it, not stock exhaust I think), am I mistaken? How would you compare the two bikes (acceleration, handling, braking etc)? From I could see, the KTM held an advantage in slower corners, and VFR seemed a bit faster on medium to high speed ones. By the way, I own a 1200F but I also love the 1190 Adventure. I test rode it last year, it's an awesome bike!
@TheBikeStig10 жыл бұрын
The VFR is an incredibly stable bike, but interestingly enough the KTM holds its own in the high speed cornering. Its a bit heavy and slow turning for the really tight stuff.

hi I tested Ktm 1190 adventure and I really liked it. Unfortunately I had only 10 minutes and I still have some question. The bike handles really well, has a sporty engine but.. is it easy to knee dragging with this bike in your opinion?
@TheBikeStig10 жыл бұрын
Is it possible .. yes; is it easy .. definitely more challenging than with a sport bike. The KTM 1190 is very tall and longer wheelbase than a sport bike Leonardo, if you are looking to drag your knees as a specific activity for some reason, I think you should pick a more suitable bike.

Is that the sound with the stock exhaust on? Or is it an Akrapovic or anything similiar?
@TheBikeStig10 жыл бұрын
Thats actually the stock exhaust, very quiet riding around slowly but it makes a decent noise when you give it some. Bit of a heavy lump though so I'd definitely recommend fitting an Akrapovic or a Remus Hexacone.
@Eltargrimm10 жыл бұрын
Thanks.

Eltargrimm We've now fitted an Akrapovic and it's pretty good, seems to be a bit crisper off idle, definitely sounds much better.

What tyres was the KTM running?
@TheBikeStig6 жыл бұрын
If I remember correctly, Continental TKC70s, they perform remarkably well in both dry and wet.

North Queensland in Australia, it's called the Rex Range.
