Thanks. Yes, some don't have the tools to remove the rear wheel so this is a good option. Defo test ride them both, the KTM's are strong machines imx.

@@KevKam yeah will definitely get out for a test ride, need to work out my biceps to hold onto that beast! 😂 I assume also you don't need to do rear wheel/chain alignment with the single side swingarm? Correct me if I'm wrong.

A perfect video Kev, you answered all my questions, confirmed all my suspicions and delighted me how easy it is to remove a wheel on my first single sided swing arm bike. I won't be buying the KTM special socket at £ 37.00. Many thanks
@KevKam
@KevKam Жыл бұрын
Thank You.
@AntaresSQ01
@AntaresSQ01 Жыл бұрын
The main reason you'd want to is because the special socket is much flatter and is much less likely to cam off than a standard 60mm, if that standard 60 cams off, say goodbye to taking your rear wheel off again. Besides, good luck trying to find a 60mm socket for less than 37 quid...

Very helpful thanks I have the super duke R v3 I watched the front and rear wheal video hopefully it’s same or similar. I want sport/touring tyres not sport tyres with a 200 rear impossible to find may have to put a 190 on will be 5mm lower tho .

Thanks. Glad to help. The R 3.0 looks amazing. Id have a black one. Yep, sports tyres get eaten. I still use the Angel GT,s and get 3-4000miles from the rear, almost double that from the front. Yes, i think the R and GT 's are same, or very similar wheel, brake systems. Let me know if its drastically different. 👍

So you don't have to realign the wheel after because it's only a single side swing arm right? I wanna take the wheel off and take it to the shop for a bearing replacement but if it has to be realigned I'll just take it to the shop.
@KevKam
@KevKam 2 жыл бұрын
Correct. The swining arm is always inline with the frame. No allignment needed or possible. Its an easy job with a long breaker bar or similar.

Don't use the gear box to hole the wheel from moving, it will mess up a few components and put stress on the chain . Use the rear brake and push the bar the wheel will not move .
@KevKam

Thanks. With 2 people the rear brake can be used. This is the way for 1 person. I beleive most people and workshops put the bike in gear, it does no harm.

Another good trick if doing solo: deflate the rear tire almost completely -that way, it won't try and spin when you apply force to loosed the nut.

Great videos, thanks, quick question what top box/rack are you using? Looks like Givi but I didn't think they make a kit for the SUperduke GT
@KevKam
@KevKam 4 жыл бұрын
Hi and Thank You. Yes, your right, its a Givi on a Givi universal plate. Ive 2 top boxes a 58 and 42. Whilst the 58 is great for long tours with a tent etc, it looks overkill when the panniers aren't on the bike so for trips without a tent, thats when i put the 42 on. the universal plate is on a SW Motech street rack - www.ebay.co.uk/p/20035206376?iid=153844603738&chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=710-134428-41853-0&mkcid=2&itemid=153844603738&targetid=878020102480&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=1006755&poi=&campaignid=9446079328&mkgroupid=95287732945&rlsatarget=pla-878020102480&abcId=1139356&merchantid=191377525&gclid=CjwKCAjw-YT1BRAFEiwAd2WRthCJW41DcZQPCMXJ0U2qCIkY4l9IUSeBzJ7hFqpvIeCTRJfwQInVLRoCsD0QAvD_BwE

Would using an impact gun do the trick instead of using a pry bar, just a thought maybe !!.👍🇬🇧
@KevKam
@KevKam 5 жыл бұрын
Probably, I’ve never used one and not got one, all my work is done as inexpensively as I can. The big pry bar is free 😁. I sometimes think the guns do the nut up tooooo tight. My 55mm Diavel rear nut was a pig to shift, even with a bar.
