Perfect video. I'm 59yrs old, retired Mech Eng, approaching 100 or so top end rebuilds throughout my life. I like your tip on the spot of silicone sealant on the bottom corners of the PV cover, I will start doing this. Once again, super video.

Dave so happy with my TSP head/ecu reflash for the TPI. The bike runs like a fire breathing dragon! Its just so unlucky that I haven't been able to race it since covid stopped all events in California.

Awesome vid! Question. i have a 250 with domed piston and using a deck timing tool to measure the x dimension. I installed the .5mm base gasket and the piston is lifting the tool slightly at TDC. To me, technically it is not within KTM spec of 0....10mm. But you indicate to use as close to a .5mm base gasket as possible. I have a stock setup so should I go with .6mm to get more within spec or should I stay with the .5mm?? Thanks!

Hi what is the best reed valve to run on a '96 300 exc?

Great instructional video! Who do you use or recommend for a replate? I have a 2007 exc.
@TwoStrokePerformance7 жыл бұрын
Justin we use Electrosil for our replating. They are the best in Australia. Otherwise send it overseas to Cylinders NZ or Millenium in the USA

So I got a pro x piston kit for my 05 KTM 250 EXC. The piston rings don't have any indication of which way is up or down. I've looked pretty closely and can't see anything. Maybe a defect from the factory? Or, is this a common?

What kind of silicon do you use for sealing that rubber on the right side cover please?

Hey, is that a Mitaka piston u use in this video? I would really be interested to hear a few experiences about them cause they cost about half the price of an OEM or standart aftermarket piston and are made in japan.

hi just a quick question, i've a 2012 exc 250 and i found out that these 250s use dome pistons, now i don't like the idea of my burnt gasses pushing on a curved surface and i'd prefer to use a flat piston but i don't know if it's a good idea to use them on the standard head, any suggestions? thanks
@TwoStrokePerformance7 жыл бұрын
jnuxca you can't use a flat top piston with the stock head as they are not a match and you'll lose heaps of power. My suggestion is to keep the domed piston as it has more surface are for heat dissipation but If you really want to use a flat top then you'll need to get the head redesigned to suit the new piston.
