Just doing my top end on my 17 300 and it looked very similar to that Husky for carbon build up on a JD Jet kit. I had to clean everything by hand. I used Gunk Hydro Seal 2. It did a pretty good job with about an hour of manual scrubbing. I should have watched your video instead of RMATV’s because I removed the setting bolts for the PV and now I’ll have to reset the PV with calipers

Hahaha. Yeah that’s a trick that mechanics use that actually have to make a living doing it.

Hey great video, just wondering what is the small hole above the exhaust port?
@highlandcycles3 жыл бұрын
It is a compression release hole.

Hey do you need to torque the cylinder head
@highlandcycles Жыл бұрын
No. Not on a 2 stroke. Now if you don’t have a good feel for that stuff you might want to but if you’ve worked on lots of things you will be ok. The head bolt torque is about 25-30 ft lbs
@nickpowellbmxmx8771 Жыл бұрын
@@highlandcycles ok thanks alot It's on a 2016 te300 husqvarna 2 stroke does that torque setting apply to two stroke performance head

No mention of deck height or base gasket thickness?
@highlandcycles4 жыл бұрын
No, I didn’t go into that in this video. That is a topic all by itself in my opinion. Mainly because you can’t hurt anything no matter which gasket you use. The performance may not be as good as it could be but this video was more about just the nuts and bolts of doing it.

Little help if you dont mind? I've got a 2018 tx 300 What is leaking out of the base gasket on the left side of the engine! Going to do a top end rebuild, piston gaskets etc! Question?how do I choose the correct piston and base gasket???
@highlandcycles4 жыл бұрын
I’d get a B piston no matter what. On the base gasket I don’t spend a ton of time measuring for that. I just use one of the middle thickness ones. It may not give me the ultimate compression but i can’t tell.
