I bought 2016 excf350 last week. It is going to be adventure touring, green trails slayer, and supermoto. Yes, I 100%% agreed it is like multi-tools of a motorcycle. It has more power than I ever need and lightest in all 250-350cc class. Nothing even comes close other than Beta and Husqvarna 350.

I started watching this video very seriously after I found out I can no longer get a red or green sticker for a 2-stroke bike in California in 2022. The 350 EXC-F may be one of few or the only bike that can ride on public roads, trails, and handle the jumps on an MX track.

Seems like it's geared a little high for the track, but that's what you'd expect. It pulls VERY clean from the bottom, tho. Looks like a good all-around ride. Good bike to connect trails when you have to use the highway to do so.

yes, that wide ratio gearbox and gearing is not made for the track, but still was able to ride there and enjoy it. It felt overall kinda soft for sharp riding on the track..

Excellent review, Just bought one myself, a 2012 stock 250EXCF. has 15min blast on a paddock around home, and yep. It will tractor from low speed without flaming out too easy, and the wheel pop is progressive and predictable. I called it a forgiving and confidence inspiring bike. Can wait to hit some flowing single track and a mix of a few jumps on some MX tracks. Cheers from the land down under, Silver Top - Dougie. :)

Nice, how would you rate the 350 vs the WR450F, thinking about getting a 2020 WR450F. Might settle for the WR250F. I can plate the WR so it would be my plated dirt bike/dual sport. Probably just a double sport, no motocross.
@dirtniron
@dirtniron 5 жыл бұрын
Personally, if I am going to plate it and ride it on a street for quite a bit, I would probably choose wr450. Its powerful, but not too hard to manage, its little heavier but feels quite nimble on the trails.. best if you can try them both out. Then again, 350 is just the right size.. basically you cant go wrong with either of these bikes

I've had my2015 350 exc-f from new and done190 hours and I've never even had the spark plug out. :)) Still on original piston, fork seals, wheel bearings. I checked the valves once at 10 hours but besides that I haven't done a single thing except change oil and filter every 15 hours. I changed the sprockets from new and run 14-48 so the bike hasn't ever been revved hard. Hope this helps.
@DanielOliveiraSantos
@DanielOliveiraSantos 5 жыл бұрын
@@kitesurfuk It does help, do you feel any lack of engine power any difference from new ? I think that for 190hrs it should be as good as new, but they are a different type of engine....
@kitesurfuk
@kitesurfuk 5 жыл бұрын
@@DanielOliveiraSantos Mine is the older version, but I doubt it's that much different from a reliability point of view. I put most of those hours on the bike in the first 2 years and have been riding mainly motocross with my other bike lately. I have never ridden the bike hard to be honest, so it's hard to say if it feel like it's dropped any power. It still starts really easy and doesn't use any oil. Never had to adjust the idle either and it seems to run like it did when it was new. Like I said earlier I changed the sprockets from new and it will do 55/60 mph with just over a quarter throttle on the road. I can do 100 miles on a tank before the reserve light comes on, so that should give you an idea of it's easy life. I was going to change the piston at 50 hours as per the manual, but after speaking to a ktm mechanic I decided to leave it.

I had that very same bike 2018 ktm 350 exc-f, I bought it brand new and it was garbage. I sold it in less than a year because they flame out at low rpms, it had several electrical problems, the wires were breaking inside the coatings leaving me with no starter motor, no lights the second time, no blinkers the 3rd time. I geared it down a bit so that was ok, but it was also bogged way down with smog controls which I mostly fixed. I now ride a 2018 250xc-w, it must 4th ktm they are good but not without their problems, I can go on and on.

@@dirtniron I am told that in 2018 ktm started making their own reeds, they suck and broke off deep in the mountains, bike would not run and pulling it with a ktm 500 and tow strap up and down those hills is easier said than done. It took till 3am (12 hours) to get the bike out of there and we were sore for a week afterwards. My buddy is the parts manager and told me that all 2018 ktms are having this problem. The broken reeds will make a mess out of your top end as well. I now have 100hrs on the bike and everything is fine now.
