Of the videos I have watched, this has been by far the most helpful. Good tips on exactly what to watch out for with the clearances of the grip wiring lead and how to mark it before gluing everything down. Thanks!

Installed mine today, took me 4 hours! Thank you very much for this video, it helped me a lot. I have chosen adventure grips, these have to be cut to the minimum allowed to fit. Works perfectly. Goodbye cold hands :)

Great video to calm my nerves before taking the tools to my bike - thanks. My only question is, do you really need to be able to apply full front brake with the throttle wide open?

Yeesh, so glad the 890 has factory heated grip options.

Hi mate! I'm having some toruble fitting the one on the throttle... Same bike and same grips. Very hard to push in 😅
@infinitydreamzz2 жыл бұрын
Probably too late but maybe someone else can benefit.. First of all, if it's so tight, no need to use any glue. To push it in, use a plastic mallet gently, if that doesn't work, take a socket bit that is the same diameter as the grips and hit it with the mallet, again gently.

Thanks for the video. Question, I purchased Pro Taper EVO Adventure bars 1-1/8. And a set of these Oxford Heated Adventure grips. I'm trying to install today, but the grips are really loose. What's your recommendation for this issue? Appreciate your feedback👍

Which model of heated grips did you used for adventure 390?
@infinitydreamzz2 жыл бұрын
Good video but connecting heated grips straight on to the battery is the second best way of doing the job. Best way is to connect to a cable that goes live when the ignition is switched on, so you cannot accidentally turn the heated grips on when the bike is not working and drain your battery.

Can i get the link of the product please? The website has 2 versions of touring grips and they are both priced different. Not sure which is the right one.

Would it not be better and easier to cut end of grip off, rather than cutting logs off which are there to stop grip rubber fouling the switch housing resulting in a potential throttle sticking open!
@OverlandExplorersUK3 жыл бұрын
Them lugs near the switch housing hook under the original grips so you can't normally see them, the new grips don't do that Plus as long as the grips don't foul the switch body when gluing them on (you can see us do that in the video) then they won't be able to move once the glue sets. If the glue gives up then you won't be able to twist the throttle anyway as the grip will just spin around the throttle tube

Hey dude. I have a question. Which one is Oxford hot grip product?
@OverlandExplorersUK3 жыл бұрын
The one I fitted is the touring version, the adventure version should fit but you will need to trim the grips down
