I actually like that muffler! It wont bend when you drop the bike. Like lets say the T7

In the promo video, you can see a traditional can muffler. It's also shown in some of the latest pics.

Hello a1, yes, there is a Powerparts muffler shown. Honestly, I expected it to be on the Enduro, and not the SMCR, or Adventure R. So far, it looks like they will all be during the nearly non-existant pipe from media released. Thank you for stopping by and commenting! - Frank

I keep thinking I would like to get a dual sport. As much as I love my adventure, this may be a good addition
@OneOldManRiding3 күн бұрын
Hello Ron! Have you ridden a CRF300L? Or a 250L? They are a very nice dualsport. And a used one, in many, not all, markets can be had for a very low price. I think this bike is going to fit in for a lot of people, not me, as I enjoy some wind protection, but if you want a dualsport, with more road ability, and modern electronics, this is going to be the bike to get. Bajaj makes good bikes. And they are certainly leaning into the small bike market now. And despite my complaining, this will be just fine on the highway, as the 390 is, just a little breezier! - Frank

@ Hi Frank. I have not. I fear I would be disappointed in the power. I like that attitude and do everything power of the 390. My other bike is a Yamaha Stratoliner 1900 vtwin, so some days the 390 leaves me wanting for more, but the agility and upright riding makes it better. The updated motor on a lighter dual sport would be a nice addition to the garage.

@@RonOrud Og dear Ron, how do you go to the power of a 390 after that Yamaha! Those are powerful and stylish! I will love to hear what the Enduro R is like. I just am not sure I could give up the fairings and windshield. - Frank

Looking forward to more info on the 390 Adventure R. Not sure that I'd go down that right, but they are making it more attractive for me 🙂

Interesting info Frank. I am surprised on the weight. That’s real close to a DR650. Also, wondering how things are going to shake out with KTM going through a bankruptcy. The price seems decent but if I were to buy another Dual Sport it would be Suzuki DRZ 4-S or a Beta 390 RR. Interesting video though! Keep us posted! Cheers!!

It has to be above a minimum weight, to meet European and Australasian, learner licence power to weight ratio requirements.

The muffler/catalytic converter fills the space between swing arms. When you buy the Remus pipe it comes wth its own muffler/cat. The new model boasts 45.3Hp, same as the 24Duke390.

Hello Rob, while this version lacks the fairings and screen I need, just having final specs and pricing has increased my anticipation for the 390 Adventure R! I expect this week we should have an announcement, as two of the three models have been announced. - Frank

Well done, KTM. Especially that MSRP. Thats a lot of bike for the money. Sadly, it isn't the bike for me, as I doubt I will ever be good enough off road to take advantage of it's capabilities. That India spec 390 Adventure you linked to a few weeks ago though... I'll have that one, as soon as you tell me I don't have to move to India to do so.

Hello Paper, there are some VERY market Savy folks at Bajaj. Like you, I do not think this bike is for me, but Bajaj listened to the market, and there does appear tbe a market for this, and delivered. Which IMHO is more than Honda and Kawasaki have done. Honda has the CRF300 Rally, and Kawasaki has the Versys X. Both are very minor updates away from serving the market this bike will, and have been for quite a few years, and neither company seems to be interested. - Frank
@papertiger7953 күн бұрын
@OneOldManRiding as a Versys X owner (who will be riding that bike coast to coast in September), it's hard to argue that point. It's a good bike... But it wouldn't take much from Kawasaki to make it a great bike.
@OneOldManRiding3 күн бұрын
@@papertiger795 Hello Paper, Kawaski made the Versys X well before Honda or KTM ever thought about "Small ADV" bikes. They simply never updated theirs. The truly disappointing part is they updated the Ninja from 300 to 400cc, and never brought the ending to the X. They also added ride modes and new ABS to the Ninja line, and again never used them for the X. Such a missed opportunity! Honda would need a whole new engine to update the 300 Rally, Kawsaki has everything they need already. The Ninja 400 engine would be a smoother, more powerful one than the KTM And still far lighter than the CFMoto twin in the 450- Frank

@@OneOldManRiding look up the new KLE 500. There was a weird p-twin thing in a box with a 21" spoked front wheel at EICMA this year. I'm hoping that turns into the X450 the world needs.

Get used to these weights on low cc bikes. It’s the euro A2 licence rules that a bike must weigh a certain amount if they want to have the max A2 power around 44hp.
